INTRODUCTIONBusiness environment is internal and external factors that impact overall working of firmto great extent. Present study is based on Marks and Spencer which is the retailingl firm and hasbranches across the world. Study is bifurcated in two parts, first part describes types oforganizations, organization's size and scope and the structures and functions of the organizations.Further it explains relationship between organizational functions and their retaliation withorganizational objective and structure. Second part highlights impact of macro environment hasbeen stated in context of business operations. Current assignment will describe SWOT and Pestleanalyses of company and will also illustrate relationship between macro factors and strengthweakness of business. SECTION 1P1) Types and purpose of organisation, public, private and voluntary sector and legal structures.There are various firms that have different ways of conducting operation. Apart from this,each firm has different purpose and different legal structuring. Public sector organisation - Public organisation that have been made to manage the policy andoperating a requirement that enable government to achieve the goal of public government. Mainpurpose of public sector is to provide government services and the public goods such as military,police, public education etc. and along with the health care. Economic development where thepublic enterprises were set up to increase economic growth in planned manner. Public companiescreate sound industrial on the basis of fast industrialization of company. They also provideinfrastructure facility to promote and diverse economy and also it promotes for self-reliance inthe strategic sector of the national economy. Several public enterprises are established in lowbackward areas to reduce the regional imbalance in the development. In order to maintain thebalanced development in different parts of the country it is necessary for the social and strategicreasons. It is essential to reduce the unemployment in the country as it is a serious problem in thecountry, public enterprises can offer a gainful employment to an million, in order to protect job.For economic purpose public enterprises try to generate and gather surplus for the reinvestmentwhere the public enterprises can earn money and gather public saving that is for an industrialdevelopment. It tries to protect the public from the exploitation and profiteering by providing thevaluable things at cheaper rates (Prajogo, 2016).2

BBC company is working as public firm, its main purpose is to aware people with thelatest updates and serve them best. It provides TV, radio and online broadcasting services tousers across the world. It is the statutory corporation, there is direct intervention of corporation.Executive committee have to manage daily operations, it gets funds from government to run itsoperations(Hillary, R., 2017).Private sector organisation - These are operated from the individual and companies apart fromgovernment. Mostly private sector running on the basis of profit making organisation. And themain purpose of the private organisation is profit maximization where they desire to maximizethe profit of the shareholder. Whereas another purpose of the private sector is transparency offinancing and annual report but the transparency is restricted to the key stakeholder and notextend to the public at large. Transparency is important for making an accurate business inprivate company decision making. And also it restricting to the company policies, marketingplans and competitive strategies as in limit in the transparency it kept the private data out ofpublic view (Erasmus, Strydom and Rudansky-Kloppers, 2016).John Lewis partnership firm is working as private company, it works in retail sector andprovides cloths, jewellery, food, financial services to consumers. Purpose of firm is to maximizeprofit and expand business globally. It works for financial benefits and long terms sustainabilityin market. Legal sector organization - Legal structure of private companies is that it is limited by liabilityand such firms cannot issue shares public ally. Board of director makes all the decision forbusiness. It is essential to have memorandum of association and articles of association tobusiness. Types of organisation in private sectorSole traders are the owner of the firm who bears all risk and liability of enterprise. Theyhave unlimited liability in business. Whereas partnership companies are such firms in whichprofit is shared between partners and both partners bear risk as well (Virglerová, Dobeš andVojtovič, 2016).Voluntary organisation- This are such companies that works for social welfare rather thanearning profit. NHS is working as voluntary organisation, the purpose of the voluntaryorganisation is to help the group and individual to diverse political and interest and try it3
