Reflection
Analysis of challenges that I faced in this module:
In this module, I found many challenges. I found that ethics are crucial for every organisation
but I identified that it is difficult to follow all the ethics by an organisation. There are many
ethical challenges which I found such as discrimination and harassment, unethical leadership,
toxic workplace culture, etc.
How I dealt with this, and why I took this approach including use of Kolb’s Reflective
Cycle or Gibbs Reflective Cycle?
I found difficulty in order to deal with the challenges. This module is not easy for me and
that’s why I took some necessary steps in order to deal with the challenges. For that purpose, I
use Gibbs reflective model which assists in providing an effective explanation:
Descriptive: I got a module which is based on business ethics in which I had to focus on
analysing the need of ethics, ethical challenges and stakeholders’ role in order to maintain
business standards.
Feelings: I felt nervous as I knew that it is not an easy module. Ethics are very important for
every organisation and it is crucial to follow by each and every company. I felt that it is
necessary for every organisation to follow ethics so that they can able to understand that what
is right and wrong for them.
Evaluation: I found that it is the good for my future as ethics are not only important for
organisation but also crucial for every individual. I felt motivated that now I know the
importance of ethics and ethical philosophies which assists me to behave in an ethical way.
Analysis: I analysed that it is necessary to identify the root cause of ethical challenges by an
organisation so that they are able to take right measures. I also analysed that senior
management team and employees are playing an important role in the process of maintaining
business standards.
Conclusion: I concluded that business ethics are necessary to follow as it helps in guiding and
directing to the organisation that they should act accordingly so that they can become an
ethical organisation.
