INTRODUCTION
Business ethics refers to study of business policies as well as practices related to various
controversial subject like discrimination, insider trading, corporate governance, corporate social
responsibility (Aras, 2016). It is responsibility of business to fulfil their their duties towards
society and community. Corporate sustainability helps to recognise that corporate growth and
portability is important which require to pursue various social goals of business. There are
various issues to be faced by business which is related to meeting requirement of customers in
today's time without any compromise in meeting requirement of future consumers. It is
important for company to overcome of impact which is cause by actions of community as well as
society. For this purpose, organisation needs to adopt different principle of sustainability and
also needs to integrate their corporate social responsibility in their business function. This report
include research on technology industry which is one of fastest growing industry. Technology
industry is developing with advancement in technology, research and development. This project
report includes various challenges related to corporate responsibility and sustainability in
business. Analysation of best practices in technology industry is consisting in this report. It also
includes recommendation for business which make business them more responsible towards their
social responsibility.

Corporate social responsibility is a major function of a business which is adopted by large
organisation in their extensive supply chain, multiple facilities, head office as well as complex
shipping centres. Corporate social responsibility allow corporate organisation to contribute in
development and growth of society and community and also for societal goals (Benkert, 2020).
Sustainability includes business activities which are voluntary and demonstrating about inclusion
of environmental as well as social concern. Sustainability and corporate responsibly is one of
prominent feature of a company which allow them to fulfil their responsibility towards society.
There are various companies which are operating in technology industry which is large in size
and also possess powerful software. It is important for large organisation to ensure that they have
fair labour practices at workplace as it helps them to build positive image of organisation in

minds of their employees. Business also needs to protect their environment from various
constraints which can be cause due to manufacturing process as it is one of major concern for
large organisation.
There are different organisation working in different countries but corporate social
responsibility is important for all of them in same manner. There is no specific solution for
corporate social responsibility for any running business (Cui, Jo and Na, 2018). There are
different problems arise in different organisation but problems arise in technology industry is
completely different. It is important for company to maintain standard and transparency for
ethics and suitability in their organisation. Technology industry has unique position as it has
ability for redefining of different ways of conducting business and it also provide position related
to different challenges occur in an industry. There are various challenges occurred in technology
industry and some of these challenges are mentioned below:
Security: It is one of major concern in technology industry which is faced by various
organisation. It is important for any organisation to provide security related to private
information of their customers and also other stakeholder which helps them in maintaining
confidence of customers on company (Drempetic, Klein and Zwergel, 2020). Maintaining
security related to various software used in business helps in protecting important information of
business from hackers and also provide benefit to complete with other market platers as no
competitor can copy products, strategies or other innovative ideas of company. For instance,
H&M is one of organisation which is using their own application and website to run in market.
In order to ensure security to protect personal information of business, their customers and
stakeholder, company needs to ensure security in their programming, development of high
performance and language performing encore activities which helps them to improve their
security of systems. It is corporate responsibility of business to ensure protection of personal
information of their customers and also other stakeholder.
Harmful actions: Harmful action in context of technology industry includes negative
impact of loss of important information, loss of ownership, loss of property and many more
(Nicholson and Kurucz, 2019). As per corporate social responsibility of organisation, managers
of company needs to conduct restriction over outsiders from use of technology in ways which
lead to loss to various users including employers, employees as well as general public. These
action includes intentional alternative of programs and files which leads to loss of various

resources. In order to overcome of impact of harmful action, additional efforts and time is
required for remove technical errors and viruses from computer systems used in company. It is
important to overcome of impact of these harmful action as it can affect profitability of
company.
Improper use of resources: Improper use of resources and funds is another one of
challenge for technology industry related to corporate responsibility. It is important for any
business to utilise resources and avoiding wastage in their organisation as it helps them to fulfil
their corporate social responsibility (Franceschelli, Santoro and Candelo, 2018). For instance,
Black Pepper Software is one of organisation which is facing issues in utilisation of their
resources and funds in order to get various benefits in marketplace. Company is heavily
investing on research and technology but does not getting adequate results in implementing new
technology in their organisational. In technology industry, company require innovation and for
this company is investing on research and development. But at same time, they needs to invest
ensure proper utilisation of resources. Companies sometimes are not able to utilise these
resources properly which results in wastage of resources.
Quality assurance: Quality assurance is another challenges in technology industry which
is faced by an organisation in running their business. For instance, Bentley Motors is one of auto
mobile company which is using Artificial intelligence in order to fulfil their corporate social
responsibility and it helps company to understand preference of customers (Nicolaides, 2017). It
is the ethical responsibility of top level management in an organisation. Quality is one of major
challenge on sustainability of an organisation in this competitive environment. The management
of quality is essential for a business and company should perform ethical practices in the
business. It is necessary for the company to perform corporate social responsibility to perform
the welfare of whole society.
System and application integration: In today's competitive business environment,
different systems, software and application are used which helps a business to grow in
marketplace (Freudenreich, Lüdeke-Freund and Schaltegger, 2020). It is important for a business
organisation to develop business strategy which is helpful in merging various applications with
system of the organisation. It is the major responsibility of IT department of a company to
overcome various challenges in the international marketplace. It is recommended for the
company to manage operations and functions for development of business in a precise manner. It

is the ethical responsibility of top level management in IT department to teach ethical practices
in the organisation.
From above mentioned discussion, it can be identified that different challenges to be
faced by company in technology industry related to corporate social responsibility, sustainability
and ethics (Sharma and Gupta, 2020). These challenges to be faced by different organisation
like TESCO, Bentley motor, black pepper limited and many more. In order to run business
smoothly and ensure long run survival of business, managers of company needs to carefully used
these technology and also adopt different practices of ethics.
Analysation and explanation of best practices to be consider by company in technology industry
related to ethical practices
Best practices refers to a term which is used in situation where it is important to complete
things in good manner and also consider cost and risk of doing business in effective manner (Fu,
Tang and Chen, 2020). Best practices are adopted for purpose of incorporating ethical attention
and also for reflecting in decision making process of technological development. There is not
common code of technology of ethics which can be used and that fit in different context and
practitioners. Different organisation and professions develop various internal policies, guideline,
best practices and procedure which can be adopted in their own activities as well as challenges.
Business in order to conduct their operation in ethical manner needs to adopt best practices
which are as follows:
Keeping ethics on spotlight: Ethics are important aspect in technological practices due
to social power. With increased use of technology in business, it is important for them to
consider ethics while operating in market (Grewatsch and Kleindienst, 2017). Even when
business is not directly deals with client, issues are present in business. Law and ethics which is
applied in business are not same as some of thing which are right according to law may be
ethically wrong and at same time some things which are ethically right may be result as ethically
wrong. Ethical consideration is important in technological development as it helps efforts of
individual and organisation to keep their ethics in spotlight.
Maintaining customer data: It is duty of companies to solve problems of customers and
develop products as per customer requirement. For this, bushiness in technology industry needs
to maintain data of customers. Maintaining data does not only includes collection of data of
customers but also update their data on timely basis. It helps business to develop products as per

requirement of customers and gain competitive advantage in market. With this company can also
understand needs of customers which is beneficial for them. This situation also helps business to
understand which products are harmful for customer. For instance, some games are more
addictive for user and spending more time in playing that game is harmful for user. With
maintaining of data, company can understand this problems and ensure that user does not sped

Optimum utilisation of resources: Optimum utilisation of resources at workplace is
ethical responsibility of company. Hiring IT experts is also one of ethical practices as it helps
company to build strong infrastructure of technology in their organisation which helps them to
protect their important information. IT experts are those who has knowledge related to
information technology and related aspects which are performing well in order to improve
productivity of company. Hiring people with good skills and knowledge may increase initial cost
of company but at same time, it increase productivity of organisation which reduce cost for long
term. These IT experts helps to saves resources of company as they know how to utilise
resources in company. Saving resources of company is a ethical practices which provide benefit
to company by reducing their cost.
Recommendation for business in technology industry to make it responsible towards global
consideration
From above mentioned project report, it can be recommended that company in any
industry should fulfil their corporate social responsibility towards community and society but
understanding technological aspects. it is important for an organisation in technology industry to
have understanding of corporate social responsibility. It is also important for company to focus
on various principle and also strategies which lead to management of company related to
corporate social responsibility.
 It is one of ways in which company bear responsibility for their action and its impact on
stakeholder, employees as well as community. It includes different ways in which an
organisation conducts their business and also manage its impact on environment,
community and employees that aim to solve social problems like discrimination, poverty.
It is sufficient for an organisation to invest their funds in charity and it is important for
company to be really accountable for social responsibility and maintain trust with
consumers and investors.

 It is also recommended to technology industry to adopt code of ethics which helps to
outline employees conduct related to different issues like ethics, customers service,
values, environment, employees respect and diversity. It is also important for
organisation to develop clear workplace health and safety program that helps in
protecting employees and also helps them in preventing accidents at workplace.
 Business needs to committed towards protecting environment by developing various
policies and practices which helps company to reduce impact of company towards
environment and also needs to ensure sustainability. In this, company needs to ensure to
understand supplier and meet expectation of company to responsible towards their
behaviour related to fair price. Company also needs to identify cause behind meaning of
business. Enterprise can also provide support to various organisation which are protecting
to environment. There are various company which is causing harm to community also
donate plants. This helps company to give ideas to society.
 It is also suggested to company to adopt technologies which helps to solve their problems
of their organisation. Purpose of any organisation to adopt new technologies is to solve
problems in company and also provide solutions to their problems. When problems arise
in business, they needs to provide solution to these problems by identify technological
solutions and communicate with different members of company.
 It is also recommended to business that they needs to provide proper training to their
employees related to new technologies as all technologies are not user friendly. Providing
training to employees helps business for successful implementation of business. Every
person in organisation has different learning needs and organisation should fulfil their
training needs. These training helps employees to understand use of technology and ways
of using these technologies in business which helps business to ensure technologies used
in effective and ethical manner.
 Business in technology industry is also advised that they should put values of customer at
first. Investment in technology by any organisation can be done for benefit of customers
and also to engage their experience. These technologies helps business to also improve
quality and efficiency of business. It also helps them increase values of products of
company for customers and fulfil their expectation with business. These helps business to
differentiate their products from competitions. Providing values to customers by business

helps them to fulfil their corporate social responsibility and also improve their image in
minds of their competitors.

From above mentioned project report, it can be concluded that corporate social
responsibility is important function of business which allow them to contribute towards
development and growth of community and society. There are various challenges faced by
companies in technology industry related to corporate social responsibility. It is important for
company to fulfil their corporate social responsibility as it helps to ensure long term survival of
business. There are various challenges to be faced by company related to security, system
application and integration, quality assurance, undefined quality standards and many more.
These challenges create impact on image, profitability and performance of company. In order to
overcome of impact of these challenges, business needs to adopt various practices. It is important
for an organisation to gain confidence of consumer which helps company to ensure long term
survival of them in market. Business practices helps business to overcome of challenges occurred
related to corporate social responsibility and suitability. It also helps them to operate business in
ethical manner which helps them to fulfil attain social goals and also fulfil expectation of
different stakeholders of business.
