INTRODUCTION
The Business Ethics is the study of policies and practices related to the business the
business commercial activities. It includes controversial issues such as corporate governance,
insider trading and corporate social responsibility (Weiss, 2014). Basically, ethics is termed as a
social science,, which deals with moral principles and social values. In additional additional to
this, it also gives protection to social groups. In this report, discussion has been done on the
ethical problems and issues of TESCO.The The company operates in the retail sector and was
established in the year 1919. It operates multi brand supermarket chain in UK and has employed
more than 500000 employees in its business (Menzel, 2012). This project help will discuss
business ethics issue related issues related to company’s policies and practices which affect the
the employee performance in the businesin the business Tesco have been highlighted. Under this
project report, report the discussion the discussion has been done on the the performance
management. It the process of analysis, evaluating employees’s efficiency and effectiveness
related to their performance.It is done by the manager and authority inn the organisation. It the

performance. It is done by the managers and higher authority in the organisation. Furthermore, It

also highlight the monetary loss of TESCO in 2015 which has highly affected the operations of
business and company have suffered from great loss of mon and it is suffered from the great
losses.
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
It is ascertained that business ethics is based on the activities, decisions and functions
related to the operations of businessthe business. Business ethics is a core concept of situation,
activity and decisions related to firms firms where issues and conflicts of right and wrong are
addressed. Ethical issues related to the company’s policies and processes directly theaffect affect
the employee’s performance. Employee performance in the bue business plays a significant role
in enhancing the growth and development aspect of the company (Atapattu and Jayakody,
2014). Performance management is a process by which managers and employees works work
together to plan, monitors and review rk the objectives and overall contribution to theof
employees. In other word it can be said that performance management is a process under which

management observe, analyse and evaluate employee’s performance and on the basis of their
working efficiency and performance increment or promotion related decision can taken. In the
context of TESCO, there has problem related to unethical performance management. It means
manager of company has not properly consider the activity of performance management. There
has improper measurement of performance management so many employees has dissatisfied by
company practices. Many of the employees has resign from their job due to poor performance
management system. Authority of company and manager has not focused on the efficiency of
employees and they has not properly focused on their performance. The decision of increment
has taken on the basis of personal relation, gender, and culture. So it can be said that TESCO
management covers by discrimination because employees promotion and increment has not
according to their efficiency but also by their personal relation and other reason.
Ethical aspects related to the the same is one of the challenging aspects for every
organisation in the present era. It is a significant and crucial aspect business analysis as it help
companies in attaining high and successful aspects of growth and development within the
market. The aspect of ethical business operations help companies in developing a significant
brand identity within the market which develop high sales and profitability in the economy.
Atapattu and Jayakody, (2014) analysed that the impact of ethical operations is develop a
significant impact on internal and external business aspects. The ethical issue at TESCO related
to performance management is that manager have no skill and ability to monitor the perform in
an effective manner. The ethical issues is that there has discrimination at workplace where
promotion and increment has done according to the personal references not on the basis of
qualification and ability. This is the major issue of the organisation so employees get
demotivate.
TESCO Manager should identify the various methods of performance management so as it can
properly manage the performance of employees. Company can use various techniques such as
performance appraisal and 360 degree appraisal. By use of this technique company can take the
fair decision related to performance promotion and growth. Further by use of this techniques
company can not make any unethical situation. The issue related to unethical; situation can
remove with assistance of proper performance management tools. Under the performance
appraisal method manager or supervisor of company can observe and analyse the employees
