INTRODUCTION Businessfunction refers to the diverse action which is performed by the company. Theseare divided into several areas and departments . The major objectives of business function are core and support functionboth are interrelated with each other, as the role of core activities is to generate income and support function provides assistance to the income generation activity (Gorbunov and Lvov2018). The following report is based on Mark & Spencer which deals in clothing, home and food products . It is UK based company founded in 1884, its headquarter is in London. This report will cover all variants included in business functions. MAIN BODY The operations consist of four types which are describe below in relation to M&S. Production- This refers to the activities of producing goods or providing services. The role of this department is converting raw material into final product, achieving high level of efficiency, maintaining quality of commodity(Trinker, 2021). In context of M&S, it is well establish brand in UK. It ensures the quality of the product for consumers isbest and comfortable for them to use, so that the brand value can increase or build a loyal customer base for business. Human Resources- This function is important for managing employees in the company. The job responsibilities are recruiting workforce with the right qualification, provide training sessions for increasing production efficiency, announce rewards to motivate employeesand many more. (Pett, Kristal and Mack, 2017). In relation to M&S, the company provides a training sessions for their employees to be more productive. The administrative person recruit a qualified and skilled workforce that can resolve the issues of users . Marketing- The term states the roles for selling, researching, sales and after sales service. The members identify customer desires and develop a significant sales strategy to satisfy individual. It deals with price, advertising, customer service, packaging, consumer relationship management. This is important for business to analyse the position of brand in the market and understand the 3
user behaviour(Moreno Buendía2021). In case of M&S, the members of department do a proper research and study the needs and wants of consumer, so that the brand can fulfil the needs of the buyer So that the user can't supersede. Finance- The department deals with managing currency in the organisation including the inflow and outflow of money. The candidate of this area carries financial reports, preparing budgets and locating cost to other firms, dealing with compliances like taxes , raising funds and managing them and many more(Lutsenko, 2018). In terms of M&S, it consist a brand in worldwide the person provides the appropriate records of revenue and expenditure. It helps the organisation to work smoothly and systematically. all four types of business function are interlinked with each other. As they enables the company to work with proper coordination and build up a team spirit. Helps in reducing the organisational conflicts and issues which can effect the brand image. CONCLUSION The above report concludes, performance measurement is compulsory for the company. By these all variants the organization will know how to influence or control the employees as well as the opinion of users, shareholders and public. 4
