of a business as well. This report will provide recommendations for an organization to improve

given case study. Based on Levinson (2007), CKE restaurant has started a new business of fast
food, which will be based on the BIS system. The CIO of the company has decided about the
implementation of the BIS system. Moreover, basic services can be managed using various
processes. There are many good things in the BIS system, which are beneficial for improving the
performance of a system (Levinson, 2007).
This report will provide a discussion about the nature of the information system
especially in the case of the restaurant. It will consider CKE restaurants according to a case
study. It will provide an important role of the BIS system in different business operations
including the decision-making process. This report will provide features of the BIS system.
Moreover, this report will describe about business process re-engineering.
Nature of information systems
BIS system has provided its best outcomes to improve the research areas. BIS system.
Most of the processes can be used for managing all the processes. Moreover, sales can be
improved using BIS systems (Levinson, 2007).
The Monster Thick burger has included 1420 calories as well as an artery-clogging 107
grams of fat. It is a huge number of calories in the human body. Based on Jeff Chasney, CIO,
and the firm that owns and operates Hardee's. It is necessary to manage the entire thing in a
restaurant in a biter way (Adair, 2018). CKE would have thought twice about the growing
epidemic of obesity in the US. Business Intelligence (BI) system has used for various things in
the businesses as well. BI has provided various software applications for reporting and business
analysis (Anderson, Narus, & Narayandas, 2009).
BI systems have used for managing all the critical decision-making processes (Callahan,
2019). The firm can change the menu and number of items based on the databases and reports, as

a hamburger is increasing sales of the company than restaurant should increase the supply of the
items rather than other products, which has fewer sales (Chen, Chiang, & Storey, 2012).
It is depending on the sales of a product that can be analyzed based on daily and monthly
sales. Monster Thickburger has increased the sales of the company as well. An item can improve
the sales of a company (Chesbrough, 2010).
The firm should include data analytic software to improve the results in terms of sales.
The Monster Thickburger has provided better outcomes in the test market and the firm has spent
a large amount of money on adverting, which is not necessary for this product. Thus, it is
necessary to consider the entire thing about the product and the firm should consider various
types of issues and challenges in marketing (Isik, Jones, & Sidorova, 2013). Most of the
restaurant has taken help from the BI system for managing their business such as Hardee's, T.G.I.
Friday's Wendy's, Ruby Tuesday, and more. BI systems have provided various benefits to the
company as they can provide a better decision-making process in less time (Nedelcu, 2013).
Carlson Restaurants has used BI systems and it is helpful in the saving large amount on
the sales and marketing of the products. It will improve the outcomes of sales and other
processes as well. Ruby Tuesday's has grown in the market because of BI systems. The firm has
increased its sales by more than 20% because of BI systems. It has increased sales at restaurants.
Many systems have included in the BI systems, such as Microsoft SQL Server database and
other analytical tools (Sabherwal & Becerra-Fernandez, 2012).
BI systems have provided various opportunities. In addition, there are many of the
companies (Bharadwaj, El Sawy, Pavlou, & Venkatraman, 2013). Most of the firms have
included information systems for data management. However, it can be used for data analytics as
well, which is good for the growth of the businesses. Besides, performance can be increased
using various products and services of the company including technological innovations
(Callahan, 2019).
The impact of information systems on business decision-making
BI tools have provided a similar report as corporate tools. Moreover, it can be provided
with real-time data as well. Therefore, a firm can use cloud-based tools for data analytics and

management and decision-making process (Vercellis, 2011). Adoption of technological
innovation is a risk, but it is the best way to improve the business in the market as well. Decision
making is a good practice in a firm that should be based on the data as well. Thus, BI systems

There is a different way to use BI tools for managing all the things. Managers used BI
systems to have a look at food prices. Excessive food charges would possibly have indicated
inadequately trained chefs who had been ruining several foods earlier than getting dishes right,
which would have contributed to extended wait times. But food expenses have been every day
(Darwin, 2016). Most of the approaches may be managed using data analytics and enterprise
analytics.
BI system has provided better outcomes in a business based on data analytics and
decision making (Darwin, 2016). BI has an immediate effect on the company's strategic, tactical
and operational enterprise choices. BI helps truth-based choice making the use of historic
statistics instead of assumptions and gut feeling (Obeidat, North, Richardson, & Rattanak, 2015).
BI tools perform facts evaluation and create reviews, summaries, dashboards, maps, graphs, and
charts to provide users with exact intelligence about the nature of the commercial enterprise
(Draheim, 2010).
A hit commercial enterprise intelligence approach starts even before implementation. It
includes excellent facts governance coverage (Zeng, Li, & Duan, 2012). It is the best way to
implement BI systems for analytics processes. Statistics cleaning is essential before feeding it
into your BI device because suitable information analytics is vain when accomplished on horrific

There is some recommendation for the restaurant to improve its business, which areas:
 Develop new IT strategies to improve the IT infrastructure in the restaurant
 Establish BI tools and techniques for the decision-making process
 Create innovations for decision making based on the data of IS systems
 Develop security policies for securing data as well
 Provide training and awareness to employees to take proper actions
CKE should take these recommendations in their business to grow in the market. BI
systems are helpful in the management of various processes. This is a good way to improve basic
