Business Information Systems and Processes_2

INTRODUCTION
The writing is about business information systems and its processes that are indeed the
powerful techniques that can be utilised by the firms of digital era. There are various appropriate
techniques available related to such aspects that are useful if handled carefully to organize the
business processes. In this brief about the mentioned topic, three tasks are to be done that will
analyse various advantageous and disadvantageous factors that are to be considered while
carrying out the activities. Task one will have two parts, one will have information about the
processes of business operations and second part will be of presentation about the same. Task
two and three will comprise factors that improve business performance and the emerging trends
in the sector respectively.
MAIN BODY
Task 1 Business Information Systems and processes:
What is six sigma? An overview of Motorola case study:
Any business entity strives to achieve the overall business objectives that can allow them to
attain the desired success rates Hetrick, R., McDonald, B., & Park, J. (2021). For this, there
has to be a full proof evidence that the customers are being satisfied with the activities and
that the firm is reliable of its activities. Six Sigma is the exact methodology that can enable a
business firm to ensure excellency in its business operations with the help of its framed
principles and mechanisms. These enjoy a spike in their accessibility rates as many business
firms have decided to opt for these activities to achieve success. (contd. In ppt)
Benefits of six sigma:
1. The approach of six sigma helps in the analysation of lacking areas that are the reason
behind each and every loss incurred. With this the activities are being improved by the
firm and thus, results in customer satisfaction rates and loyalty aspects.
2. Reduction in waste materials is the main motive of such methodologies that is known for
its data driven technical approaches in eradicating wasteful activities. It identifies which
all can be the improving aspects that can result in the optimum utilisation of available
resources.

3. Effectively managing time is an advantage provided by the six sigma analysis, that results
in efficient business performance and balances work life of the people. With this, the
lower level management can also work by getting motivated from the top tiers in
contributing in goals and objectives.
Disadvantages:
1. The methodologies of six sigma only focus on the quality of the produced items and can
cross any limits to evaluate the success rates. This can result in an increase in the cost of
production and can lead to financial instability.
2. For the production and delivering of resources and services mentored, it demands a high
rate of production along with the high and advanced technologies in turn. Moreover,
there will also be a need of recruiting more talents that require a large investment.
3. There are even confronted real time barriers as the process is a time consuming one. This
then becomes hard to predict that will it be as efficient as the resources invested or not
and makes it difficult to form suitable strategies Trubetskaya, A., & Mullers, H. (2021).
The six sigma process of business transformation:
The methodologies of six sigma are unpredictable in nature which means that it might
either avail success or might be the reason behind someone’s losses. However, it can even be
said that the logic behind such activities have to be understood in order to improve the quality of
manufacturing processes. The process of business transformation is defining the business
problems and relating it to the goals. Measuring problems with available performance rates
and statistics to evaluate the outcomes, then comes analysing was the process efficient enough
to carry on with or not. At last, it can be improved with the help of discovering possible
relationships among established variables that are suitable for the business performance
Viriyasitavat, W., & Hoonsopon, D. (2019)..
Recommendations:
In the case of Motorola case study, it can be measured that the firm maintained high
efficiency while adopting to such innovative aspects by eliminating waste activities to minimise
variation in its overall business operational activities. Therefore, it can be evaluated that the
techniques are always tricky in the business environment because of risky nature and there is a
