INTRODUCTION
The Industrial disaster creates the major destruction by all the leading man made areas
and their imputations. That destruction can be seen in Bhopal gas tragedy which is popularly
known as Bhopal disaster was a leakage in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh , India. All the organisation
should follow the ethical norms and values that are important in the cultural and the
environmental development of the company(Clarkson, and Miller, 2020). There always leads to
create a major disaster which makes various ethical and legal issues in relation with all the
companies. In this report it includes the assessment of ethical issues in Bhopal gas tragedy with
various turbulence and theories being implemented in it which created that enormous disaster.
TASK 2
Bhopal Gas Disaster was one of the worst disaster that has been happened in the history.
It has enormously affected large number of people as that was due to the leakage of Methyl
isocyanate which was a hazardous gas that been made by the UCC that is union carbide
commission and they had created a pesticide sevin on the plant that is being made in India named
Union carbide India Limited.
UCIL was being setted up in India as the main branch was firstly being about to set in
Bombay but the government of Madhya Pradesh insisted that the plant should be shifted in
Bhopal. So in 1979 that plant has been framed ion Bhopal. There were about 50.8% of subsidiary
of this plant being raised in Bhopal and that also made that the main pesticide use to come from
UK and the remaining mixing was being done on the factory.
The Incident
On the night of 2-3 December 1984 at Union Carbide India Limited (UCIL) in Bhopal,
Madhya Pradesh , India faced a blast of MIC the pesticide plant which variedly have various
chemical substances as there were tanks that are being filled with MIC namely E610, E611 and
E619 as the average of the pressure and the gas may be filled for not more then 30 tonnes but on
that day the tanks were filled of 42 tonnes and that created a immense pressure in the
tanks(Cortez, 2018). It was world's worst industrial disaster which took the life of over 5 lac
people in which approx 2000 died in an instant and the others which are about 300,000 suffered
and affected.
