INTRODUCTION
Business law can be defined as body of law that governs activities that are carried out in
the organisation. These laws are defined for and controls both public as well as private business
activities. This report will discuss about legal system and different sources of the law. This report
will also discuss about role that government has in lawmaking and application of statutory and
common law in justice court. Statutory low can be defined as law which is passed by a body of
legislature. Common law in one which is developed by the judges in court. This report will also
discuss about impact of different laws and legal factors on the business and its operations.
LO 1
P1 Different sources of law
Legal system can be defined as rules and regulations and institutions through which
private and public endeavours and initiatives are carried out in legitimate ways. This can also be
defined as system interpreting and enforcing rules and regulations which are mandatory to be
followed so that private and public organisations can operate properly and not adhering to these
law and regulations can be subject to penalty and legal actions against institutions (Bell, 2018).
Legal system also contains rights and duties of people and institutions and along with that it also
includes responsibilities in variety of ways. Legal system is constituted on the basis of laws and
regulations which are developed and enforced by the authorities within a territory. Legal system
in UK applies to England and Wales and as a paralegal of Brickworks our suggestions are based
on legal system of UK.
Sources of law refer to those places from where the law has emerged and origins of law.
Sources of Law are-
Legislation (primary and secondary)
Legislation is first source of law and legislation can be defined as the preparing and
enacting of Loose by local state and national legislature. This means that the law which is
developed and imposed bye legislature at different level in a country. This is applied to bring
ordinance and for the rules and regulations of Administrative agency to carry out the delegated
