Introduction
Business is an enterprise where entrepreneurs used to buy and sell their products and
services in order to on Revenue from it. Management includes planning, organising directing and
controlling the resources of the Organisation in order to meet targets of the firm (Aadland and
Aaboen, 2018). This report is being discussed about the business management internship in
Tesco private limited company. It is a company which was founded in 1919 by Jack Cohen. The
headquarter of the firm is located in Welwyn Garden City, United Kingdom. It is the largest
British multinational grocery and general merchandise company which is dealing in the retail
sector industry. This report is being discussed about the experience which I have gained during
the skills. The report is also talks about the problems which are faced by me during the internship
and the skills which I have learned from this internship. Lastly, the experience is discussed with
the help of Gibbs Models (Bonesso and et. al., 2018).
Main body
Business management internship covers a huge spectrum and also provides good
placements in this area and helps in availing the variety of opportunities. In these kinds of
internships the candidates can learn to develop their skills and knowledge which can be useful in
the future of their career. In the internship I was assessed with developing tools for conducting
analysis and discussing business strategies with my team and also I have got an overview about
what's involved in running a business and getting real hands on field for everything from finance
to operations. There are a wide range of careers in the business management factors which
includes project manager, production manager, management consultant, risk manager and
advisor of the business.
Skills developed
During the business management internship I have learnt many skills which help in
enhancing my ability in order to become more successful in my career. These skills help the job
seekers to attain their livelihood and beneficial for the companies to work in a more productive
environment. There are several skills which I have learnt. Some of them are discussed below:

Communication skills: It is the most important skills which must be possessed by every
individual who are pursuing their professionalism. Before the internship I was an all over
confident student during my college time but when I joined this internship I was learnt
different communication techniques which helps me to have a clear communication with
my superiors, peers, bosses, clients, business owners and others. I have done an
internship in Tesco PLC where on a daily basis I have to coordinate with my superiors in
order to get the task and further report them with such task (Dachner, Miguel and Patena,
2017).
Leadership skills: It is the skill which must be possessed by the business managers. Asda
choosing a career objective of mine is business manager where I have to manage the
business and there I have to lead my team and take the responsibility of team members.
During the handling of this I have faced multiple issues in my day to day working and
giving a track on them can be challenging for me as a fresher. Moreover, a business
manager's leadership skill helps them to efficiently complete their assigned projects.
Motivational skills: when I used to work as a team leader I always used to motivate my
subordinates in order to boost their morale which can be resulted in effective work by
them. For this I used to interact with them and help me in understanding their needs and
personalities. I always give rewards in thanking my team members so that they can
recognise them publicly among the team members. I used to do this in the team meetings
and internal newsletters.
Business management skills: when I was selected in this business management
internship, I got an opportunity to handle the internal spending of Tesco. In this I have to
assist the manager of the store and ensure that the other employees are strict to their
budget and work accordingly to the needs and wants of the organization (de Ramírez and
Lafford, 2017). I also used to look after expenditure of the organisation because I have to
be strict towards the budget which was assigned by my seniors. For this, I used to keep
and record in my computers with the help of Financial Software in order to have a proper
track of how much spending in the company.
