INTRODUCTION
Business and Management are the disciplines devoted to organizing, analyzing, and planning
various types of business operations. These degree programs teach the fundamental skills that
are required to efficiently run or manage a business. Tesco is a British multinational groceries
and general merchandise retailer with headquarters in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire,
England, United Kingdom. It is the third-largest retailer in the world measured by gross
revenues and the ninth-largest retailer in the world measured by revenues. This report covers
issues such as types of power in leadership and business. Role of politics and what it means in
the company and nature of conflict and how it reflects on the outcome of the company. Other
than all of these aspects are linked with a real company that is Tesco in order to achieve the
aim and objectives of the report. Reflection has also been covered in the report which
highlights the learning, importance, abilities of the reporter which is useful. Overall the
reflective statement includes academic, practice and personal.
Concept of Power in leadership and business
Coercive Power-
This type of power is linked with the idea of coercion. This power forces someone in
the company to force someone to do things against their own will. This type of power has its
own objective which is compliance. This type of power is concerned with the obtainment of
compliance. This type of power can be used in many different situations. For instance holding
the rewards and threaten the employees of the company for social exclusion. The power in this
force is associated in a negative manner in relation with the factors such as situation of
conditional reward. On the other hand some of its attributes also lead to positive manner such
as punitive behavior. This power is considered as a power which leads to create problems in
the company. The reason behind that is the personnel in the company who has this form of
power is abused and used in the wrong manner. Most often this power leads to dissatisfaction
