2BUSINESS ORGANIZATION METHODSAnswer 1The Soft Systems Methodology (SSM) is an approach of solving a problem one byone when there are multiple issues plaguing an organization it depends on (Adnan et al.2017). The system method takes an approach which analyses and solves the problemsindividual using an array of approaches necessary. The approach takes the CATWOE inconsideration for resolving the issues faced by the organization by approaching the problemsindividually (Farag and McDermott 2015). The different Root causes of the issues areanalyzed worked upon by the management to solve them and the effectiveness of the solutionis measured. Based on the solutions of the process the problem is considered resolved or thealternative methods are devised for their solution.The method intends to solve the problems based on mental models based on theworking of the organization according to rational and defendable logic. The SSM plansdefensible logics based on the cluttered arguments of the people in real-time situations (Al-Kharousi et al. 2017). The defendable and rational models based on the defensible logic areknown as conceptual models (Georgiou 2015). The concept is based on real incidents in thereal world and the perception of the real world. As the Executive director of the CustomerService Operations of Quest Diagnostic (Quest), MaryAnn Camacho faces a number of issuesin the organization. The declining reputation of the Quest is often due to the employee issuesfaces by the customer service employees (Walker, van Jaarsveld and Skarlicki 2014). Thelack in recruitment and retention of the employees causes the company to run into hugelosses. The company is also losing clients because of the customer service representatives arenot being able to provide the clients and the technical support to the clients.As an executive director following the CATWOE model, MaryAnn needs to look intoa number of issues delving in to the crisis for the organization. Firstly, she needs to ascertain thevarious problems because of which the issues are arising in the organization. These issues arethe root causes for the decline in the company’s reputation and the losses in the business. Theroot causes will help her to come up with a set of possible solutions for the causes of the lossin the organization (Wilson and Van Haperen 2015). In the given scenario, there may be threeroot causes of the problems faced by the National Customer Service Organization (NCS). Thefirst cause that causes the losses is the high recruitment and labor costs of the employees. Thesecond cause is the problems faced in the retention of these employees. Lastly, the mostimportant issue is the lack of training of the employees in providing adequate information
