The main purpose of this paper is to do a business plan of the hospitality and tourism
industry. The study is supported by understanding the raising demand of tourism and
hospitality industry. It is found that, the business plan of starting a nightclub will benefit the
entrepreneur because; it will provide a competitive advantage to the business in exploring to
the young customers of the Macquarie University of Sydney and starting a nightclub will be
best option for the entrepreneurs in the hospitality and tourism industry.

Introduction
Tourism and Hospitality industry is facing maximum demands in terms of creating an
excellent customer experiences in the field of small and medium enterprises. The industry is
growing rapidly in the world. This industry market provides a greater opportunity for the
entrepreneurs to expand their business in the world economy. The first part of this paper has
provided an introduction on the business plan of the entrepreneur. The next section is on the
marketing strategy of the business and their infrastructure strategy and the last part is on the
competitive advantage and financial plan of the business start-up. The intense of this report to
do a business plan for the business startup of a tourism and hospitality industry.

Introduction
This Business Plan will focus on the business start-up of a recreation sector. This
business will be a part of restaurant and bar industry. A night Club will be opened in Sydney
focusing on the students of Macquarie University, in the large space is available next to the
University campus (Carson & Eimermann, 018). The name of this club will be “The
moonshines”. The club will be around 3000 square feet and will be guided by two team
managers for proper management of the club. The nightclub will be a high-energy club near
the university. The competitive advantage of this club is that, it will have a separate mini
sports bar section for the students interested in sports with music. The sports bar will provide
facilities of playing indoor games and gymnastics. This business plan will focus on attain a
leading position in the recreation sector in Australia.

The mission of this club is to create an environment that can satisfy the changing taste
and preferences of the young customers (Forgacs & Dimanche, 2016). The business will
focus in constantly meeting the demand needs of the customers with respect to entertainment.
Objectives
This business will focus on the following objectives:
1. To capitalize the club with maximum opportunity.
2. To manage the customers with proper hospitality treatment.
3. To maintain the cost and quality of the food.
4. To maintain the cost and quality of the beverages (Elbanna & Elsharnouby, 2018).
5. To maintain their cost of operations and cash flow form the business.
6. To increase their sales by 20% in the next three years of business implementation.
The business plan summary
The nightclub will focus on the young customers. The design and musical themes will
be done by focusing on the young customers. It will be located near the campus of Macquarie
University of Sydney. The nightclub will focus on providing a friendly and unique service to
the customers. The total start-up cost for the business will be $50,000. The company will be
seeking a loan from the bank for doing the business start-up (Saner, Yiu & Filador, 2019). A
team containing of two managers and three employees will guide the nightclub.
Business ownership
The nightclub will contain two managers. These managers are the entrepreneurs; they
have done Master’s in Business Administration from the state university (Chung &
D’Annunzio-Green, 2018). One of the manager will manage the entire business and the other
manager will be managing the marketing aspects related to the club.

The Moonshine will focus on creating a unique dance themes and highly energetic
experience for the young customers. The main advantage of this business is the location and
lack of competition near the business market. The bar will contain highly quality of energetic
drinks, soft drinks, casual foods of appetizers and entrees in the menu list (Passos &
Nascimento, 2016). The cost of the casual foods and drinks will be affordable for the
customers of the University. The mini sports bar section will have indoor games and
gymnastic equipments.

Market Segmentation
The target market of this nightclub will be the youngsters of the Macquarie University
of the Sydney and other outsiders. The youngsters include group, couple and friends who
wants to have a place to chat, eat and drink for the sake of refreshment (Bell & Bell, 2018).
The customers will be in the age group of 19-25 years. The university has a good reputation
in Sydney, and every year more and more students are joining in the college. This will help

The music themes and the floor design will provide the best satisfaction rate to the
youngsters.
There will be an additional discount of 15% in the beverages and the foods at every
Wednesdays.
Price is affordable and no entry fees is charged for the youngster below 21 years.
Sales Strategy
The Moonshine nightclub will be opened in the February month of 2020. The club
will provide an additional discount on the food and drinks up to 15% at every Wednesday.
The business awareness will be created through advertisements, booklets and magazines
(Finasari, 2016). The main strategy for the sale is to open the club as early as possible.
Different marketing strategy will be implemented for the nightclub advertisements and
attracting the young customers.

responsible for managing the technical aspect of the night plan. The total payroll for staffs
and employees is expected to be $2, 00,000 in the initial year.
Infrastructure Facilities
The Moonshine nightclub will have the following facilities:
Conventional Dining- A conventional dining facilities to provide a good quality of
food at the dining room. The dining room will have four set of dining tables for
serving the best quality of food to the customers. The dining room will be present at
outside the bar nearest to the kitchen. People can enjoy eating dinner after the party or
refreshments. Additional to the conventional dining, there will be a one formal dining
facility for the customers who wants privacy and little interactions in their dining
(Farndon & Burton, 2019). They will have to pay an additional charge for this dining.
Sports facilities- Sports facilities of indoor games like, chess and ludo will be
available in the mini sports club. A separate gym will be available for both the men
and women.
Lighting system- The moonshine will be fitted with a moonlight lighting system to
create an elegant lighting system in the dining table. The bar will be provided with a
DJ music system for the customers who want to enjoy dancing. A separate music
system will be available in the mini sports club. The music system will have a unique

Competitors
The other nightclubs of Sydney are the main competitors of this business. Marquee
Sydney and Chinese Laundry are the most demandable bars of Sydney and are the
competitors of The Moonshine in Sydney (Nayak et al., 2018). It will be difficult for this
business to attain a leading position in the Sydney market.
Financial Plan
The total revenue is expected to grow at 20% in the next three year and 7% in the
initial three month. The profitability of the business is expected to increase at 20% after the
three years. Video-technologies, dining sets, cash, equipments and other inventories are the
assets of the business. Loan borrowed from the bank is the liability of the business. The
building and machines are the long-term assets of the building. Accumulated depreciation
will be charged for the fixed assets. The estimated life of these assets is five years and the
depreciation of the assets will be calculated on the basis of straight-line depreciation method.

Therefore, it can be deferred that, this business plan of starting a night club will be
benefit for the entrepreneur because, it will provide a competitive advantage to the business
in exploring to the young customers of the Macquarie University of Sydney and will help the
business to expand their business profitability. Hence, this business plan of starting a
nightclub will be best option for the entrepreneurs in the hospitality and tourism industry.
