INTRODUCTION
Business practice is delineated to a way for carrying out activities of company to attain
objectives in most cost effective manner (Guccione and Hutchinson, 2021). Purpose of the
assignment is to audit personal fitness for a business environment, own skills, knowledge, skills
and plans for improvement. The personal reflection includes ways in which key skills are
developed and used in function of academic and business aspect. It also includes strengths and
area that require focus for improvement.

for improvement
In academic and business contexts, there are certain abilities, knowledge and skills which
are developed and used by a person (Jabbarzadeh, Fahimnia and Sabouhi, 2018). For an
individual, skills and knowledge are acquired through experience as well as learning. I believe
that skill set improves as we gain more experience. Well developed and effectively used skill
makes an individual expert in academic and business field. I have learnt, developed and used
various skills that will help me to complete my academics and achieve success in competitive
business environment. It has been evaluated by me that development of skill improves accuracy,
foster quality, enhances performance and guide to comply with regulation. Mentioned below are
some of my skills that I have developed and used for functioning at academic level and business
contexts:
Time management: It is the ability to organise and plan ways to divide time among
various practices. For me, time management skill assists in completion of more work in less
duration as the attention in emphasised towards goals. When I was a student, I completed my all
assignments and projects prior to deadline which helped me to develop my time management
skills. In academic context, I believe that time management skill is important for completing all
working on set deadline, engage with new learning and use more free time to pursue activities
which are significant to them, including hobbies, spending time with family and friends, sports,
etc. With use of time management skill in academic context, I am able to make most of my
potential and enjoy satisfaction of accomplishment. At same time, time management skill of
mine is developed in business context through reducing distractions, avoiding multi-tasking,

Numeracy skills: It is defined to potential for recognising as well as applying concepts of
mathematics in all areas of life (Kouhizadeh, Zhu and Sarkis, 2020). I have observed that
numeracy skill comprises of counting, understanding numbers, solving number problems, adding
and subtracting numbers. Every activity such as counting, talking about sizes and looking at
shapes help students of academic level to develop early mathematics and numeracy skills.
Moreover, I have developed my numeracy skills at academic level through play based learning
environment and subjects that comprises solving mathematical solution. At academic and
business level, it is evaluated by me that numeracy skill is used to solve real world issues. It
develops logical thinking addition to reasoning strategies in everyday practices. I require
numeracy skill for solving problems as well as making sense of digits, patterns, shapes for
activities, for example, reading receipts and instructions while managing business. Numeracy
skill enables an individual to carry out working well with teams, manage tasks, solve problems
and take personal responsibilities for workings.
Team working skills: When a person learns to work in a team, it reflects that they share
goals and results in most effective manner. At academic level, team working skill for me act as
support to collaborate within group to brainstorm ideas for completing tasks and attain success
collaboratively. I have developed team working skill at academic level with the help of working
with groups to accomplish shared results, listening to each team members, sharing
responsibilities and being accountable. I observe that successful team is one in which unique
strengths and potentials of everyone assist in reaching towards shared goals effectively. For
example, I worked with a team to complete my assignment wherein I was allotted some tasks
and I coordinated with each person of team that resulted in developing my team working skill.
Moreover, team working skill is used at business for getting working faster so to make overall
operations of business more efficient. My working in team has resulted in developing sense of
comradery as I carry out practices for common goal. With this, I evaluated that team working
skill is used at business level for building morale, innovate faster, learn from others and creating
healthy competition.

which entails using mobile phone, browsing internet and others for communication purposes
(Sharma-Wallace, Velarde and Wreford, 2018). The skill permeates all aspects concerned with
life, quicker ways and provide newer tactics for people to interact, seek help, learn, network and
gain access to information. At my academic level, I have undertaken various courses to gain
insights about technologies for sharing information and communicating with others with digital
mediums. Usage of information and communication skill helps me to access information for
universe and access equity in education. Moreover, the skill guides me to deliver quality learning
and administer people at business units. At business aspects, development of information and
communication skill automate solutions for manual paper related procedures and makes it easy
for me to manage human resources together with information. It enhances my mode of
communication, eliminate usage of papers, fosters data and information security.
Problem solving skill: It is the competence that consists of using ad hoc methods for
finding solutions to complexities in orderly manner (Liu, 2020). I have developed problem
solving skill through determining reason for happening of an issues and determining solutions
for resolving all. It contains set of abilities which aid me for identification of problems,
proposing key solutions, evaluating alternatives, selecting best one as well as executing effective
one. At academic level, I have used problem solving skill to solve day to day issues such as
disorganisation, poor grades, failing to network, etc. It assists a student to emphasis on making
sense of mathematical ideas and provides ongoing assessment information to take suitable
decisions. In business, problem solving skill permits me to seek people that are cognitively
equipped for handling all working that my job throws at me. Being a problem solve, I am able to
observe, judge and act fastly in case when difficulties arise.
From the above evaluation of development and usage of key skills that are required at
academic and business skill, I have analysed that some of the skills are my strengths while some
