B.) Make-up kit
In order to become a proper make up artist it is required to have a proper kit so that to
apply proper make up on clients to make them beautiful. Being as an owner of Pretty Strings, I
have analysed that a proper kit can help a make up artist in putting right things on face of an
individual so that he/she can look beautiful. I have assumed that, both on and off screen carries
high number of differences where real heroes are make up artists as they are the one that can
make a person's face more beautiful. Using quality products with high brand names, an artist can
put right foundation or other things to make individuals much attractive. Being a make up artist it
is pretty much required for me to select different brand and products so that I can make others
more beautiful. It is also required that to use quality based cosmetics through which delivery of
different products and services can be done (Kong and at.el., 2017). A proper make up kit has
include different products which is being made underneath:

D.)Written Project
The concept of make-up is around 7000 years old. In initial years of this, people used to
take in use of lead ore and copper in order to make cosmetics. First make-up substantial was
made by ancient Egyptians. In modern world, women and men are using advanced beauty and
grooming products to look good, hide pores and to make much more smooth complexions to
look beautiful and attractive. Lets take a look in years of 20th century from where make-up
become an important part of life of both men and women (Zimmermann, Raisch and Cardinal,
2018).
Make-up in the year of 1920:
In starting of 1920s, there were ample number of cosmetics that were used by women so
that to create a specific look like “Evelyn Brent” who was a famous actress in that era. Every
single female aged in between 18 to 48 used to shade their lips and keep its shape like a Cupid's
bow, rimmed eyes and cheeks brushed with red shade because it was the trend of that era
(Muthalagu, 2017). On the other hand, it has also been analysed that make up was used to be
called as “paint” where good girls did not used to apply it because of restrictions from their
parents. In this year, beauty products or cosmetics that has been made by companies were not for
changing look of an individual but it was made to bettering the skin or to bring up natural beauty.
Make-up in the year of 1930:
Then in middle of 1930s, stock market got crashed which influenced women to bring in
changes in their make-up that they used to apply before. “Depression” word helped altering in
make-up of women. It is being analysed that around a quarter of existing employees of different
organisations became jobless because of stock market crash. “Greta Garbo” was the actress

which inspired millions of women to pluck out their eye brows fully and divine to draw a simple
thin semi circle line at place of it. In a revolutionary manner, where black and white films
become coloured has helped both men and women to follow the silver screen stars.
Make-up in the year of 1940:
This was the year when World War II started where men who were working in offices
were than holding guns in their hands and women worked in doves (Calvo, Rodeiro-Pazos and
Fernández-López, 2017). This has made beauty cosmetics rationed in a tight manner, At the time
of war, European girls and women has to deal with shortage among beauty and make up its. This
changed the whole scenario for women as they started using home remedies as their substitute to
look beautiful. They used to take in use of beetroot juice so that their lips can stay stain and also
utilised petroleum jelly in order to give a proper dark shade to eye lashes or to shape their brows.
Make-up in the year of 1950:
Starting of 1950s, there were many cosmetic industries with high brand value names
pushed out small firms who were dealing in the same sector. In this decade, almost everything
became new from clothing style to cosmetics. Year 1940 which embraced natural beauty
products which got changed in 1950s where women started painting themselves with new
colours, inked themselves, overdone lines and a squeeze architecture. Women started matching
every single thing like lips and eye shadow to her purse, hat, gloves, shoes, etc. because this type
of look was ideal enough which became essential for them to follow to look beautiful (Lokshina,
Durkin and Lanting, 2017).
Make-up in the year of 1960:
This decade was being called as youth-oriented, and companies started making beauty
products with taking help of hippie culture where faces of women and men painted with flower
power (Ashraf, Gershman and Howitt, 2017). In this era, some of popular brands came in front
like Max Factor that brought up innovation among cosmetics. On the other hand, there were
some other popular brands as well like Covergirl, Maybelline, Revlon and many more. In initial
years around 1950s make up look was a little different like flicked upper eye line, matte eye
shadows with different shades like grey, green or blue) but in the 1960s decade, fashion along
with make-up was focused around eyes where rest of the body parts like face kept natural.
Make-up in the year of 1970:
10

Both the decades, 1960s and 1970s where ample number of social movements took place
brought up heavy changes among political, economic, technological and social sections of
United Kingdom and of different countries as well. Liberation of women and feminism, helped
girls and females becoming much more powerful and effective in nature. It was found that more
soft along with natural look remained vogue to the whole decade. Apart from this, blusher,
bronze and cheeks were started becoming much more prominent. Blusher was made up of
powder and gel, on the other hand, bronzer was created so that to develop a proper gentle along
with sun-kissed look for women (Luftman, Lyytinen and ben Zvi, 2017). Away with this, Lashes
and Mascara came in different colours in tubes. Away with this, women also used to wear
mascara in both upper and lower lashes. As given in a report, “Punk” word carried a unique sort
of style which influenced women to go with this trend. It was a unique look as compared to other
mass fashionable trends. This look was much bold along with anarchic where black or red
lipsticks were mostly taken in use and eyes were made so that its shape can become like heavy
flicks. Upper eye lashes were dark in nature creating geometric shape so that to give a punky
touch.
Make-up in the year of 1980:
Girls and women along with men literally wore “paint” on their faces. Bold eyes along
with blush was being meant to something which is being mostly females of western countries
(Hill, 2017). 80s make was much more concerned with heavy eye shadows and really heavy
blush as well. It is being also analysed that many colours in eye shadows and tons of it was used
by women throughout this decade. Females in this whole era has kept their focus on blue shade
and used different related shades of blue. Before 1980s, people did not wanted to mole on their
faces. But, when Madonna came in front she took heart of men in high numbers which
influenced others to have a mole. Thus, it can be said that silver screen is having big hand in
changing perception of people related to make up. On the other hand, cosmetic industries have
also kept their focus on different areas. Then after that in the middle of 80s, pink blush was
heavily taken in use with a rough look like leather jacket, messy hairs and heavy sort of make up
on eye lashes. Women used to put blush more around their eyes and ears so that to become much
more catchy and attractive in nature. “Cheeky” word was mostly used by people for the women
who wore this type of make up (Barinaga, 2017).
Make-up in the year of 1990:

Evolution in make up which was done in this year was majorly done around eyebrows,
eyes along with lips. This was pretty much simple but was somewhat statement for women back
then. It is being found that, eyebrows, lips and eyelashes of females used to be dark. Colours that
were mostly used by them were brown and purple. Jennifer Aniston who played the role of
“Rachael” in F.R.I.E.N.D.S. was pretty much famous back then and was a style icon for women
which used to wear light make up but darker shades on her eye lashes, lips and brows as well.
People used to take more in use of purple, pink and brown shades in while doing their lips. It was
done because of high trend that has been followed by them. On the other hand in UK, Stila,
Urban Decay, Hard candy were some famous brands that being created in between this instance.
Majorly, black honey lipstick which was purchased by women high in numbers. Apart from this,
on face women started applying foundation so that their skin colour from top to bottom can stay
equal. Away with this, cream shades on eyebrows so that to bring up a neat and clean look was
being utilised. Back then, popular lipstick shades were matte red, plum, brown, dark berry were
used so that to look much effective in nature.
Henceforth, it can be said that there were many changes that came in front in make up
and loved by human all around the world (Roberts, 2017). On the other hand, it is also been
analysed that major changes were being faced near by their eyes, cheeks and on lips as well. It
also showed that qualities as well have made different alterations. This has helped companies as
well through which they can hit their targets because they were making innovative changes in
cosmetics. Throughout these decades, organisations that have made many cosmetics have
majorly impacted positively on lifestyle of human beings (Goleman, 2017).
CONCLUSION
From above mentioned report, it is being concluded that, proper planning and setting
prices of different products are necessary before venturing. Apart from this, it is being found that
silver screen have also influenced many changes in all the traditions of make up. These
alterations has helped cosmetic industries in looking into different sections that aid in
understanding about the behaviour of customers after using their products. Major changes that
came in make up were related to eyes, cheeks, lips and other related places on face.
