INTRODUCTION
Business psychology refers as the practices of enhancing working life. This includes the
combination of understanding science of human behaviour through the world experiences
regarding effective and efficient performance (Wolniak and Grebski, 2018). It is essential that
organisation is focusing on developing and improving working life of employees so that they are
able to contribute maximum skills and potential for conducting business task. Business
psychology is significant for attaining sustainable performance for both employees as well as
company. This helps company to conduct business task in such a manner that it will lead to
enhancing personal and professional life of employees. It assists in motivating staff members to
perform organisational task and activities in correct and accurate manner. Business psychology is
consider as the combination of science and arts that is helpful in implementing business different
task and activities in that will lead to successfully attain desired goals and objective of
organisation. There are various business psychological approaches that are significant in
enhancing organisational task as well as motivating employees to conduct business task in more
effective manner. These approaches will provide guidance of company performing business
activities in order to attain desired goals of organisation. Different types of business psychology
is mention below in detail –
Biological approach – This approach is significant in determining the information and
knowledge that is basic on living cells as well as organic systems. This psychological
approach includes brain scanning technologies that are commonly used in psychological
research. This types of approaches includes that study of chemical influences on the
nervous system along with the brain or behaviour relationships.
Subjective approach – Subjective approach includes ideas, thought process, feelings as
well as experiences of individual. This type of factor will lead to have major impact on
performance as well as capabilities of business for conducting business task (Islam,
2020). This psychological approach includes employees feels, attitude, perception,
opinion that impact over the decision making process. This will directly influence the
activities and the performance that in conduct by employees with in the organisation.
Subjective approach focuses on the personal values as well as thinking of individual for
the growth and development of personal and professional.

Behavioural approach – Behavioural approach can be define as the approached or way
which significantly focus on the activity of an individual. This type of psychological
approach is critical for deciding and investigating the conduct of an individual. It has
been broke down that the conduct of an individual activities play vital function in
learning exercises of employee and effect on ability to upgrade new and various
aptitudes. This will prompt have influence over the advancement of various factors
explicitly to preparing a person to direct assignment in required way. The conduct of an
individual has diverse effect on various circumstances. Behavioural approach emphasis
around various factors how condition and other outside improvements influence the
psychological condition of an individual.

What is the core skill to develop?
Negotiation skills can be describe as the capabilities to reach a compromise or deal which is
beneficial for both parties. It is essential for an employees to have negotiation skills that help
in successfully attaining desired goal. This skill play crucial role in settling differences
(Roetzel, 2019). Through this skill a person is able to reach to an agreement as well as avoid
argument and disputes. I have analysed that I need to develop negotiation skill in order to
increase my performance and arrive at agreement which is correct and accurate as per the
requirements.
Why did I select this skill to reflect on? Why is this core skill important for your
development (personal and professional)?
I have selected negotiation skills as it is needed to conduct day to day business activities. In
sales department negotiation skill is very crucial as it helps in successfully carry out business
task as well a convening customers. I have determined that negotiation skill is beneficial for
both personal and professional development. By enhancing negotiation skill I will be able to
increase sales of business as well as attain targets on right time. Through this skill I will be
able to satisfy the requirements of customers as well as meet with the expectation of
company.
