INTRODUCTION Business Functions refer to the various types of functions within a business which can help a lot in ensuring that it runs in a highly effective manner(Brannen, Piekkari and Tietze, 2017). In this essay, a detailed focus will be made on the different types of Business Functions which are present within a business organisation. MAIN BODY In the Business Organisations, there are different types of business functions. An explanation of these functions is given as follows- Marketing- This department ensures that the different types of products and services can be provided to the customers(Păunescu and Argatu, 2020). Therefore, in this way the organisations can make their products and services to reach to a wide range of customers in a highly effective manner. Finance- This department helps in ensuring that a proper and appropriate use of the different types of funds can be made in the right manner within the organisations(Hsieh, 2016). Thus, In this way this department can help the firms to be able to effectively and efficiently manage the financial data in the right manner in order to be able to derive proper conclusions and recommendations which can be followed. Production- In this department, the manufacturing of the different types of goods takes place(Lodsgård and Aagaard, 2017). Therefore, In this way it can be said that the companies will be able to provide a wide range of goods to the different types of customers in the market effectively and efficiently if this department is working to its full potential. For this, it is required that the setting of appropriate and proper standards can be done and thus the use of appropriate techniques and methods can be done so that the level of efficiency and effectiveness can be enhanced. HR- The role of this department is to make sure that the needs and requirements related to the human resources are judged and thus the appropriate steps are taken so that these needs and requirements can be fulfilled highly effectively and efficiently(Massa, Tucci and Afuah, 2017). In the organisations, it is thus required that this department is able to provide employees as per the various types of needs and requirements. Further, the activities related with the welfare of the staff members, development of staff to its full 1
potential are also required to be covered as a part of the role played by this department to maximize the level of efficiency, effectiveness and productivity level in the organisations in the right manner. Importance of these departments working together- All of these departments like Marketing, Finance, Production and HR can work together in the right manner and can make sure that they are able to effectively and efficiently raise the overall bar of efficiency and effectiveness within the organisation and therefore can help in the attainment of the goals and objectives in the future(Santos, Mota and Baptista, 2018). CONCLUSION From the above report, it can be concluded that Business Functions are helpful in ensuring that the various types of businesses are able to effectively and efficiently function in the right manner. The departments like Marketing, Finance, Production and HR can help a lot in ensuring that the organisations are able to maintain their overall level of efficiency and effectiveness in a proper manner. 2
