Executive Summary:
The purpose of this report is to do a Business case study on DICK SMITH, which is an
electronics acquired from Woolworths in November 2012, Woolworths owned the company
since the early 1980s. By the number of stores, Dicksmith being the wide-reaching retailing
company in Australia and New Zealand for consumer electronics. A program known as
Anchorage implemented by Dick Smith with the management was a highly successful
turnaround for the electronic company and acquired the business for $20 million. DICK SMITH
has a variation of sells like electronic products, which includes printers, computers, handsets and
a variety of other electronic appliances .This retailing business primarily sells using its store
network that is physical. It operates on the award-winning website, and the revenue for the year
ending of 2014 was $1.2B approximately. Anchorage acquired the retailing company and, a new
CEO was introduced, Nick Abboud. The management that was exixting, was further
strengthened because the new team made new additional service and successful programs of the
operational, strategic, customer and cultural initiatives. During the reign of Anchorage’s period,
DICK SMITH expanded its network.
