This research study investigates the response of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to the disruption caused by COVID-19 and its implications for the United Kingdom (UK). It aims to determine the positive immediate responses for SMEs to recover from COVID-19, identify the major challenges faced by SMEs in the UK, and analyze the threats and risks posed by the market external environment. The research type is qualitative, with an inductive research approach and interpretivism as the research philosophy. Secondary data collection and thematic data analysis methods are used. The research has high validity and reliability, but is limited by resources and time constraints.
