INTRODUCTION
Business skills and leadership abilities play great role to person who wants to make its
career in corporate and business sector. Currently most companies or businesses are giving Hugh
priority not only those candidates in their herring processes who has extra-ordinary business.
Basically, there are leadership abilities are also part of businesses skills. Reason is, mostly
people run leadership practices within a business or company. Currently each big company has
different leaders within their respective business environment. There are various innovative ways
are available to a person or employee to improve its deferent skills and competencies. For
example; a person can participate in various training session where a training provides some
specific tricks to improve existing skills and competencies, like; business skills, leadership skills,
problem solving skills. Basically, leadership provide opportunity to a business for gaining an
effective workforce, because a leader always motivates and encourages employees for working
hard in the workplace. This assessment mainly discusses different skills which a person should
improve for personal and professional development. There are Gibbs reflective model has been
used in this assessment for reflecting on development of various skills, like; effective
communication and delegation skills, decision making and problem solving skills, performance
management skills and leadership skills, etc.
MAIN BODY
Reflection
There is Gibbs’s reflective cycle has used for reflecting on my different skills which I
have improved or developed or my personal and professional development. Basically Gibb’s
reflective cycle was introduced by Graham Gibbs in 1988. He has been provided a structure to
the world for learning from experience (Cortellazzo, Bruni and Zampieri, 2019). There are six
stage has involved within Gibb’s reflective cycle which has been used below to reflect on my
development of skills factors.
Decision Making and Problem Solving
Description

Once I was joined a common group discussion with my different colleagues. Where my
colleagues were discussing about different topics. I joined something late that group discussion,
so when I joined that discussion, on that my all colleague welcomed me. Then we all continue
for discussion various topics which has base on our personal and professional development. That
group discussion within my colleges was really putted very positively impact my personal life,
because in tat group discussion we all members was discusses some those topics which can
motivate anyone of improving its personal and professional life. Basically, me and my
colleagues share those strategies and techniques with each other in that group discussion which
can give opportunity to a person for developing its all over performance and productivity at any
workplace (Novo, Landis and Haley, 2017). In that group discussion, we are total six members
were participated inducing me. It means that group discussions were leaded by me and my five
colleague. Basically my all colleagues are very talented in their respective knowledge area. I
have learnt many things from my different colleagues in my personal life. This is the main
reason that, I have learnt many new things from colleagues in that group discussion as well. In
that discussion, we all was discusses only on personal or professional development, because we
all have discussed on some different topics also has based on development of skills. Literally, at
the end that group discussion where I participated with my five colleagues was very positive
influenced my business and leadership skills.
Feelings
That discussion with my colleagues was truly too productive me to me. When we were
discussing different topics in that group discussion, then it was completely focused on listening.
Basically, in that discussion I was completely given higher priority to listening different ideas
and opinions of my colleague on skills development. When I was listening, my one colleague
told me that, why are you not saying something (Sousa and Rocha, 2019). Then I replied, there
are listening is also great habit to maintain an effective communication and delegation within any
discussion. Only speaking is never make any conversation effective, because there are listening
has also played equal role for making each conversation or discussion effective. As my
prospective, currently most people give higher priority to speaking than listening. That’s why I
have chosen listening in this existing decision, because already saying something on different

topics continually. Then my all colleagues were understood actual importance of listening habit
in any conversation or any discussion.
Evaluation
My one colleague said that, yes are truly right, we all need focus on listening habit also
for making each discussion more effective and productive. At the end, my colleagues were
appreciated me because of my listening habit. Then I feel valued by my colleagues because their
appreciation. That was literally great moment to me, because in that I felt proud on myself
because of my extra-ordinary listening skills. In that discussion my colleague suggested me that,
you can easily improve your communication and delegation skills by developing your some
more additional habits like; body language, speaking tone, etc. Reason is, a person has highly
required to develop its various listening, speaking and body language habits for improving it’s all
over communication skills (Alvi, 2017). After discussion we all was gone our respective homes
for finding some effective strategies which can improve our different skills. We were already
decided that we will be found these all strategies next seven days Acceding to my experience,
there are one week is enough to found some appropriate and effective strategies our techniques
on various sources w1hihc can positively impact our existing skills and competencies.
Analysis
In that week, me and my colleagues putted our huge efforts for finding various innovative
and effective strategies for imploring our existing business and leadership skills. At the end, we
all was succeeded in finding those strategies, techniques or ways which can constitute in our
personal and professional development. That strategy finding process was given me great
opportunity to improve my decision making and problem solving skills. Reason is, in that week,
me and my colleague was faced different challenges in during researching various strategies. So,
on that time we all members of group find such ways which was helped our group for dealing
with different challenges and problems. Through that discussion I have learnt that, person always
ready improve its decision making and problem solving methods as well (Harrison, Burnard and
Paul, 2018). When me and my colleagues was searching different strategies for improving our
skills competencies, then we learnt that ‘how to take different productive decision I different
situation. Sometimes such situations give opportunity to a person for developing its existing

decision making and problem solving skills. After ending of the week, we all was succeeded in
finding those strategies which can improve our various skills. Then again we were meted in the
next group discussion where our task is to share those all strategies or techniques or ways within
each other which we have found in the last one week.
Conclusion
I can be concluded that, in the next discussion, we all group members felt very energetic,
because on that time we all have some those innovative strategies which can positively impact
our performance. I also felt too energetic and cheerful, because was putted great efforts in the
last week of exiting discussion for fading different strategies of skills development. Then finally
we all colleagues was meted with each other in that new discussion, and started to share new
strategies. On that time, my one colleague said that, a person always has required to choose such
task in its daily life which are too challenging and tough (Darics, 2020). Reason is, challenging
and tough tasks always give opportunity to a person to take some produce decision for dealing
with such challenge tasks. On the other suede, challenging and tough task give chance to a
person for improving its problem solving skills. We all colleague was properly listening that
colleague who was informing us strategy for improving decision making and problem solving
strategy. Literally, I was completely felt highly motivated in that discussion, because where I
found those all productive strategies which can positively impact my different skills and area of
knowledge.
Action Plan
Mainly me and my all colleagues was focused on take action for improving skills like;
decision-making and problem solving. In me and my colleagues’ opinion, these skills everyone
should develop or improve, because without these various skills and abilities, a personal can’t
develop its personal or professional life. In discussion was have decided to find some productive
strategies on different sources, like; internet, books & journals and articles which can positively
impact our different skills which has been discussed above (Machida-Kosuga and et.al., 2017).
Then we were decided to a specific timeline for all members to find various strategies on
different sources on time. At the end of that discussion, my one colleague was said that, we all
will meet again after seven days for arranging a one more group discussion. In upcoming group

discs sun we all can share those strategies of skills development which we have found in the last
seven days. After completing that discussion, I was come at my home, and start finding those all
strategies which I need to share within my different colleagues in upcoming group discussion.
Then in next discussion, we all was discussed on different strategies which was highly
contributed in improvement of our decision-making and problem solving skills.
Effective Communication and Delegation
Description
One by one everyone was shared their all strategies with each other. After listening
strategy for improving decision-making and problem solving. Then I was started to share
strategy with my all colleagues which can positively impact our communication and delegation
strategy. In that situation I said that, we always need to interact with those people who already
has well-developed communication skills. On the other side, currently there are lots articles are
available in different sources like; books & journals, internet, etc. which has completely based
communication skills. I said, we all has highly required to read that articles also where many
experts have shared their productive opinions on ‘how to improve communications skills’.by
reading such articles we can easily improve our communication and delegation skills (Romsa
and et.al., 2017). Then finally I said that, we all need use these skills in our daily life also for
more and more improving them. My all colleagues were literally impressed by me, because of
my extra-ordinary research on ‘how to develop communication and delegation skills’.
Feelings
I really felt too proud on my-self in that discussion, because my all colleagues for my
excellent searching that strategies which can positively affect our communication skills. Then
my one colleague said to me that, your research skills are too excellent, because has succeeded in
searching or finding these strategies just because of your extra-ordinary research skills. It means,
now your personality has included one more skill as well. When I informed about different ways
of improving communication skills to my colleagues, on that time they also felt very energetic
because now they also able to improve their communication skills. I still remember that feeling’s
which I felt in discussion within my colleagues, in which those feelings put very positive impact
on all over performance in communication.

Evaluation
During discussion, me and colleagues was completely understood the actual value of
effective communication and delegation (Bouville, Dello Russo and Truxillo, 2018). I shared one
more thing with my colleagues that, there are various communication methods are also available
which can support us for converting our ordinary communication into extra-ordinary
communication skills. For example; verbal communication, written commutation, oral
communication, non-verbal method of communication etc. These methods play very great role
for communicating within anyone. Currently many professional within corporate sectors are
taking huge advantages from these different methods of communication. Then finally I said, we
all need to employ these all me this of communications within our daily life for making each
commutation more effective and productive.
Analysis
In my opinion, after during using different methods of communication, I should consider
various innovative theories of communication as well. For example; authoritarian theory, social
responsibility theory, development communication theory, democratic participant theory etc. are
some major theories of communication. In this situation, I should highly consider these all
theories of communication, specially development theory of communication. I said my all
colleagues that, development theory of communication plays very great role for improving
quality of our existing communication skills. There are lots people are taking huge advantages
through this development theory of communication. If I properly implement this theory in
personal life, then I will also be able to take huge advantage from development theory of
communication (Wihler and et.al., 2017). Basically, this theory of communication helps us for
running our communication abilities on a progressive path.
Conclusion
From my prospective it can be concluded that, I have highly required to use those all
theories and methods of communication in my personal life for making each communication
more productive and more effective. In that discussion I said to my colleagues that, we are
responsible to remove different barriers also which can negatively affect our communication
skills. This is very necessary task to us taking positive results from our existing communication

abilities. For example; we should avoid bad body actions in any oral communication for building
an effectiveness in that oral communication. Then finally I said my colleagues that, by following
different theories and methods of communication, we will be easily able to effectively
communicating within anyone.
Action Plan
There is a productive action plan has also played very great role in improving mine and
mu colleagues’ communication and delegation skills (Grönqvist, Öckert and Vlachos, 2017). In
discussion I said to my all colleagues that, we should develop a productive action plan for
improving our communication and delegation abilities. In this plan, everyone should include
those all actions and steps which I can take for improving these abilities. In action I am resistible
to write about those all resources also which can support me in improving these communication
and delegation abilities. Currently there are books & journals, internet, newspapers, informative
videos etc. some major resources which can help in improving these albites. On the other side, I
should include success indicator tools also while making an action plan, because success
indicator always aware us about existing efficiency of communication and delegation skills or
abilities. In my opinion a productive action will really help me for improving these abilities.
Performance Management
Description
In group discussion, my next colleague was come after me to share its findings with us which has
base on ‘how to develop or improve performance management’. That colleague said that, we
always need to use various performance management tools within our personal life for
marinating our performance on progressive path (Hashmi, Rehman and Ilyas, 2018). Colleague
informed use that, currently KPI (key performance indicator) is one of the most effective
performance management tools which can give opportunity to a person for improving its existing
performance at any workplace. That’s why we all also need to this tool for properly managing
our performances. Colleague said that, in this dynamic and modern world, everyone should
highly improperly manage its performance, because this is the only best way for achieving high
success in personal and professional life. I have known from my that colleague that, currently
most companies and businesses are investing very huge fund for properly managing high

performance of their employees. That’s why performance management skills also play great role
our life. Basically performance management abilities give opportunity to a person for
maintaining its high performance at any place. At the end, I was completely understood actual
value of performance management skills.
Feelings
I felt very enthusiastic while listening strategies from my another colleague which has
based on performance management (Skagerlund, and et.al., 2019). Reason is, I always give very
high priority to performance management abilities in my personal life, because without properly
managing my performance, I can’t improve my existing performance and productivity. That’s
why these performance management abilities are too necessary to me. My colleague said to us
that, currently a person has highly required to improve its personality and professionalism, in
which performance management abilities plays very great role to personal for improving its
personality and professionalism. Basically, this is not a small task to a person for improving it’s
all over personality and professionalism. In this situation, these performance management
strategies can play great role to me and my colleagues for improving or developing our all over
personality and professionalism.
Evaluation
Of course performance management abilities can highly contribute in personal and
professional development, because these abilities always help in identifying such factors which
can negatively affect our personality and professionalism (Cornu and et.al., 2018). My colleague
said that, we have always required to make a pre-plan for dealing within upcoming those factors
which can negatively influence our existing levels of performance and productivity. In the any
workplace, we should try to always motivated to complete each task on time, because when we
complete each task on time, then we will become one of the best performer within that
workplace. Then I said in discussion that, I have learnt somewhere that each person is fully
responsible to manage its higher performance in the workplace, because when we properly
manage our performance in the workplace, then we will be able to gain high success in our
personal life.
Analysis

Currently each person within any workplace has highly required to develop these
performance management abilities, because these abilities provides some opportunity to a person
for identifying its existing strengths and weaknesses. Currently there are various ways are
available to me for improving these abilities. For example; I can use a performance management
tools where I need write about those skills or abilities which plays great role in my personal life.
then I need to categorised skills or abilities in improved and unimproved columns. After taking
these steps, finally I should focus on improving those skills or abilities which still has
unimproved (Cegielski and Jones‐Farmer, 2016). If me and my colleagues properly complete
these all steps, then we are will be able to manage our excellent performance in the workplace.
That’s the actual importance of performance management within my life.
Conclusion
It can be concluded that I have highly required to consider those all performance
management strategies which my one colleague was informed in the last group discussion. By
employing those all strategies and techniques within my personal life, I will be able to improve
abilities of performance management. Currently I have highly required to improve or develop
these abilities, because without these abilities I never systematically management my different
performance or productivity in any workplace. Basically, these performance management
abilities give opportunity to a person for gaining high success within life. In the last discussion,
my one colleague told me that, we should use KIP (key performance indicator) for properly
managing our performance within the workplace. That colleague was informed me that, currently
each business or company is using this KIP tools for highly developing performance and
productivity of their existing people or employees. That’s why I have also highly required to use
such performance management tools for becoming high performer within any workplace.
Action Plan
My one colleague told that, we always need to make a productive action plan for
improving performance management abilities as well (Nadri and et.al., 2019). Reason is, an
action plan has always included those all actions or steps which we should take for developing
our abilities of performance management. Currently there are resources also available which we
should mention in an action plan. Basically, these resources support us for finding such ways

which can contribute in improving our performance management. For example; different articles
within newspapers, informative videos on internet, blogs etc. are some major resources. My
colleague said that, we always need to use these all resources for developing our existing
performance management abilities.
Leadership in Organisation
Description
After learning about performance management skills, my next colleague was started
sharing its research data on ‘how to develop leadership skills’ with us. Then me and my other
colleagues was started to listening that colleague who is sharing ways for improving leadership.
That colleague said that, there are various ways are available to a person which can improve its
leadership skills. For example; a person can use different leadership styles within its existing job
role of leader (Bowen and Bowen, 2017). On the other side, a person should participate in such
training sessions where a trainer provides different innovative tricks to properly leading various
people, employees or team members. That colleague’s research was so strong, because we all
was get motivated to improve our leadership skills after listening that colleague. With the
support of my past two discussions, now I have those all strategies which can contribute in
developing or improving my different business and leadership skills.
Feelings
I felt too positive while listening ways or methods for improving leadership skills from
my colleague. Colleague said that, currently most businesses or companies are highly wants
those people within their business environment who has extra-ordinary leadership skills. My
colleague specially told me that, you can easily develop your leadership skills, because you
already have something leadership qualities. When my that colleague told me that thing in the
front of other colleagues, then was really felt too proud on myself, because in that discussion I
have realised that, people can see something leadership quality inside me. That was really great
feelings to me which still makes me highly motivated to continually improve my leadership
skills.
Evaluation

In my last discussion with my colleagues I have learnt that, improving or developing
leadership skills is not a small task to a person, because there is an effective learning about
leadership is highly required to become an effective leader (Drouvelis and Lohse, 2020). After
learning about leadership in organisation factor I have realised that, different innovative styles of
leadership are also available here which I can use during job role of a leader in any workplace.
There are situational leadership, servant leadership, contingency leadership etc. some major
styles of leadership which me and my all colleagues has highly required to use in the any
workplace for leading different people or employees. In this situation, I can easily improve my
leadership skills by using these all leadership styles and strategies of leadership.
Analysis
From my prospective, top-level management within each organisation always make
leader to only that person within its workplace within actually has extra-ordinary skills.
According to the management within different businesses or companies, only that person is able
to become a leader who can easily take an effective work from some people or members by
properly commanding them (Al-Shammari and Al Shammari, 2018). That’s why I will
responsible to properly command different people or employees for becoming an effective
leader.
Conclusion
In my opinion it can be concluded that, I can’t become an effective leader in a day or in a
month, because there is huge experience of many months has required of becoming a successful
leader. I my knowledge, currently Starbucks’ CEO and president Kevin Johnson is the best
example of extra-ordinary leadership, because he has great leadership skills. That’s why I should
follow them for improving my existing leadership skills as well.
Action Plan
There is one productive action plan has required for improving my leadership skills. In
the last discussion, my one colleague was informed me about action plan. Colleague told me that,
currently a productive action plan is enough to me for improving or developing my leadership
skills (Rabiner, Godwin and Dodge, 2016). Currently I am able develop a creative action plan, so

I will definitely develop an action plan to develop my existing leadership quality. I am sure
action plan can highly contribute in improving my leadership skills.
CONLUSION
It can be concluded that a person need to take different innovative stops for developing
its various skills, like; effective communication and delegation, decision-making and problem
solving, performance management, and leadership, etc. If any person has these all skills or
abilities, then it can easily achieve high success in its personal life. There are various resources
also available to a person which can support to a person in improving these skills. For example;
training, books & journals, internet, newspaper articles etc. are some major resources which
everyone should use for properly developing its different skills and competencies. By developing
different skills and competencies, people can indirectly develop their existing personality and
professionalism as well.
