INTRODUCTION Development of business and leadership skills are two different important terms of a business environment. There are development of business directly reflect progress of business. On the other side, development of leadership skills refers, a leader always need to develop their existing skills to gain effective results in daily operations. This portfolio draft plan mainly has included reflection on leadership skills. MAIN BODY A. 4 areas of leadership I focusing on four areas of leadership called “Effective communication and delegation”, “Decision-makingandproblem-solving”,“Performancemanagement”and“Selfandself- management”. I think these areas plays great role in the job role of a leader. A leader can achieve any target in its decided time period if it has these skills. These four areas of leadership has been putted below which I'm going to discuss. 1. Effective Communication and Delegation Effective communication and delegation skills are highly needed in the job role of a leader. According to my experience, a leader need extremely need to improve or develop these skills to gain effective results in daily operations of leadership. Reflection:I always like to work in a teamwork. When I work in a teamwork or a formal group- work, my colleagues are always made leader, because I think I have some effective leadership skills. I always try to more and more improve my communication and delegation skills, because these are the best keys to do my best in a teamwork (Nye, 2017). Currently I have excellent abilities to communicate with anyone. People have get impressed by me when I interact with them, because I always try to listen them properly. This is my very positive habit that, I always maintain a proper balance between speaking and listening. My experience says, people like to talk that person who give first priority to listening. Reason is, nowadays each one give first priority speak. In a teamwork, leader always need to listen their team members carefully, because it is a way of making an effective teamwork. That's why these skills are too necessary in the job role of a leader. As a team leader in any place, I put focus on improving my communication and delegation abilities more and more effective, because these can capable me to take productive work from my employees and team members. These abilities are too helpful in building effective relationship between leader and team 1
members as well. Now I completely understand the value of effective communication and delegation skills, because these supports in removing various errors from business environment. 2. Decision-Making and Problem-Solving Decision-making and problem-solving solving skills are also too necessary in the job role a leader. With the support of these skills, a leader enables to take various productive decisions in their teamwork (Tie Suk Kee and et.al., 2020). Many times a leader face such situations in workplace where it needs to take some effective decisions to deal with different situations. On the other side, many problems are also raises in a teamwork, in which a leader can easily solve these problems, it has problem-solving abilities. Reflection:As a leader I should take various steps towards improving my decision-making and problem-solving abilities as well. These are such abilities which will help me in taking some effective decisions in teamwork. According to my experience, a leader always need to take various decisions in their teamwork to run daily operations in more progressive manner. On the other side, problem solving abilities are also too necessary to me, because I know a teamwork face different problems also in their activities. That's why I need to develop and improve these abilities as well. There are various ways available to me for improving these abilities. I will read some books & journals, internet blogs, magazines which has based on decision-making and problem- solving abilities. With the support of these ways, I can easily improve these. When I completely have improved these abilities, then I can capable to take effective decisions in the workplace. On the other side, I will able to solve various problems also in daily operations of a teamwork. At the end my these all steps indirectly contribute in making of progressive business environment. 3. Performance Management Performance manage is another major task to a leader to take productive steps towards improving existing performance. Each person need to properly manage its performance to put their huge efforts in daily operations. Performance management really help to a leader to develop their abilities and skills in its teamwork. Reflection:Performance management is also a king of skills which I need to more develop to become a successful leader. These skills basically shows which things I should improve to improve my existing performance. According to my knowledge, many successful businesses in the world properly focus on their performance management aspect, because this is an aspect 2

Self and Self-Management Self and self-management abilities plays great role in managing ourself in workplace. These abilities enable to a leader to manager themselves in a teamwork. With the support of these abilities a leader can easily achieve positive results from their daily activities. Reflection:Self and self-management abilities will help me to properly manage my own strengths and weaknesses in a teamwork. These abilities give opportunities to develop self skills, performance, workability, efficiency and qualities in the workplace (Lemons and Strong, 2016). Me as a leader able to take excellent work from my employees in activities of teamwork. There are different productive ways available to me for improving these skills. Suppose firstly I need to understand my existing strengths and weaknesses. Then I'm responsible to take various steps towards improving strengths and removing weaknesses. When I get succeed in development of my self-management skills, then I can easily be capable to improve business environment of business or company. B. Reasons behind choosing two optional areas Therearemanyreasonbehindchoosingtwooptionalareascalled“performance management” and “self and self-management”. By choosing these areas, I can easily understand the actual value of performance management and self-management abilities. Now I'm completely known the value of these areas. Performance management is very helpful to manage own performance in the workplace. On the other side, self-management plays very supportive role in knowing own strengths and weaknesses. According to my experience, each leader need to improve these skills and abilities to do their best in a teamwork. A leader face different challenges and conflicts in their daily operations, so these areas help them to deal with these challenges and conflicts. Performance management give opportunities to a leader to more 3
increase level of their hard work, workability, efficiency etc. by managing own performance in workplace, a leader can easily put its great efforts. Currently I'm able to take great advantages from these skills and abilities. 3. Reason behind setting 4 topics in this order The main reason behind setting four areas or topics in this order is to properly improve these leadership skills. Firstly I have added effective communication and delegation topic, because to improve communication and delegation skills is my first priority in the role of a leader in a business environment. Then I have taken decision-making and problem-solving abilities, because I highly need to develop these abilities as well. After these, I have set performance management topic, and at the forth stage I have chosen self and self-management in thisorder. Reasonbehind choosing performancemanagementbefore self-managementis, managing performance is major task to me than self-management. Because if I succeed in managing my performance, then I can automatically management myself. That's why I have given priority to these skills and abilities in this order. I have learnt that, if any person want to develop of improve its all over performance, then it needs to improve their skills and abilities on by one in an order of skills' value. By the way, this order give me full support to improve my existing performance. CONCLUSION It can be concluded that a leader highly need to develop different abilities in their job role to well perform in teamwork. If any leader have those all abilities and skills, then it will able to give their great contribution in the growth of business environment. 4
