Different Organisation function and its interrelationship with each other
Business organisation includes various functions which are operated by the employee or
management team of company in order to attain their specific goals and objectives (Shenkar, Luo
and Chi, 2014). The present essay is based on TESCO, a renown multinational retailer of United
Kingdom. The company is large in size and operates is business activities across the world. This
essay will cover up information about different organisational functions, their importance in
company and their interrelationship with each other (Our businesses, 2019).
TESCO is a large scale international company which provided valuable products and
services to its customers and holds good market reputation among customers. All Business
functions of this company is handled by top management team which can be seen as main reason
of success for TESCO. There are mainly four department in the company that is marketing,
human resource, finance and production. Marketing department of TESCO is responsible for
developing strong relationship with all stakeholders, conducting cost effective marketing
activities and performs various other things which makes their business profitable. This function
is helpful for TESCO in gaining competitive advantage (TESCO, 2019). Main role of Human
resource department in this company is to hire well qualified, experiences, hard working and
trust worthy employees who could work for longer term in organisation. It can be said that
TESCO can achieve its targeted goals and objectives with the effective work of HR function
only. Finance department looks after funds requirement of various departments operating in
business organisation. This department handles all financial activities from fund raising to fund
allocation effectively on the basis of its strict requirements. Main function of operation
department in TESCO is to deal with procedure of supply chain, business processes and
evaluation of products that will be offered in retail store of this company. Operation department
works as the backbone of TESCO as it helps the company in using available resources in
effective manner in order to provide products to customers on the basis of their requirements.
It has been analysed that all business functions are interrelated with each other as it wont
be possible for them to work alone and achieve their targeted goals and objectives effectively.
Interrelationship among these different business function of TESCO can be seen in many
examples like finance department provides funds to other departments so that they can execute

their individual work responsibility. Finance team give funds to marketing department so that
they can promote products and services of TESCO among customers (Finance. 2019). This
department also provide funds to HR department which helps them in recruiting right candidates
who will perform work of other functions effectively (Human Resources, 2015). Marketing team
also provide knowledge about changing demand, taste and preferences of customers to operation
department. This helps them out is modifying their existing procedures and guides them in
adding products in their stores for retaining its loyal customers. In addition to this, it has been
seen that human resource department initially analysis actual requirements of all of departments
and then hire best suitable candidates for them. This reflects that HR department is interrelated
with each and every department in TESCO as it provides workforce to them so that goals of each
department can be achieved in effective manner. It simply states that all of business functions are
interrelated with each other. Along with this, it can be said that business activities of one
department can not be fulfilled without support of another one. Therefore, it is essential for top
management of every head to share strong relationship with each other in order to achieve
sustain longer in the same industry.
