This journal article review analyzes the association between business strategy and performance, with emphasis on the combination of approaches. It also evaluates retailers in the US and their performance. The article uses theoretical frameworks related to business strategy and incorporates a survey methodology to collect data. The findings suggest that the combined approach of business is associated with superior performance in some cases but not all. Transparency between approaches is highly associated with the performance of the company. The article provides academic and managerial contributions to the field of business strategy.
