INTRODUCTIONOrganizational behavior is the concept that study human behavior in organization. Itincludes interaction between employees and the organization. It studies behavior of differentindividuals and their roles. The main goal of organizational behavior is to introduce varioustheories that help in developing a better understanding of organizational life. It is influenced bydifferent disciplines including sociology, psychology, economics etc. It also helps in studying thecomplex nature of employees that helps in identifying cause and effect of their behavior. It helpsin determining impact on job structure, leadership and communication in the organization.Present study will be based on Cadbury company. It is British multinationalconfectionery company that is owned by Mondelez International that is a parent company. It wasfounded by John Cadbury in 1824. Its headquarter is located at Bournville Birmingham B302LU, England (Cadbury UK, 2019). It operates in more than 50 countries across the world. It isfamous for its dairy milk chocolate, roses selection box and other products. Report will include organization's culture, politics and power that influence the teambehaviour and performance. It also includes different theories of motivation and its techniquethat helps in achieving effective goals of the organization. Further more it will include conceptsand philosophies of organizational behavior within an organization.LO1P1 Influence of organizational Culture, Power and Politics on the Behaviour of Employee andTeamFrench and Raven's Five Forms of PowerAccording to the French and Raven theory there are five forms of power. This types areCoercive power, Reward Power, Legitimate power, Referent power and Expert power. This formis based on concept of coercive in which the employees are forced to do something. This cancreate negative behavior in employee. The second type of power is reward power in which therewards are distributed in employees on better performance. The legitimate power is based onthe responsibilities. A responsible employee can improve the performance of company. Referentpower is related to ability of administer to someone sense of person approval and acceptance.The last form of power is based on the high level of information and knowledge. The Machhiavellianism Theory refers to the personal quality of seeing a person too muchfocused on their personal interests forces, deceive and exploit other to achieve their goals.Machiavellianism is one of the quality which is known as Dark Triad. This can make theemployees inspired and motivated to perform better for company goals.Influence of Culture on Employee & Team Behaviour and their Performance.The company culture have major influence on the individual and team behaviour andperformance. The culture with in the organization can affect or influence the different areas of ateam and the individual person behaviour and that can lead to the impact on the team andindividual performance. To show the influence of company culture on the team and individualperformance and behaviour we can use Handy's model.To represent of cultural influence on the employees the Handy's model use four type ofcompany culture which are power culture, role culture, task culture and person or supportculture. This cultures are based on the rate of change and complexity of the work process. For more convenience the power distribution is on Y axis and Level of cooperation is on the Xaxis. In this model the impact of the power distribution and level of cooperation within theorganization on the individual and team behaviour and performance. The power explained in theHandy's model is of decision taking and making changes in the organization. This depends onthe legal and organizational structure of the organization.Role Culture (Low Degree of Cooperation and Low power Distribution)In this type of organizational culture can be found in high bureaucratic organizations.This culture is also known as the Apollo culture which is named on the Greek god of Wisdom. Inan organization the employees wants satisfaction and security as much as they can get. Thisculture is known for the strict rules, obligation, procedures and agreements. The hierarchystructure is more important than the employee performance and because of this role culture is notflexible for the employees (Bender, 2018). The management of the work is based on thepredefined procedures and clear work description. This method is also applied on the individualjob and communication with in the organization. The most important thing of this culture issafety, stability and predictability.For example the supermarkets use this kind of culture and in this type of cultureemployees feels less power and no cooperation which leads to the less satisfaction and thisreduces the individual performance. This reduced performance affect the overall performance ofthe team. The higher communication gap affect the employee belief in the organization. Thistype of culture is not used in Cadbury.Power Culture (High Cooperation and Low Power Distribution)This kind of culture can be found in the entrepreneurial organization. This type oforganizations are the start ups and or where the company owner have the high authority andpower. This type of culture exist in the flat structured organization. These organizations arefounded by the individual and it is difficult to follow the delegating procedure where the poweris in hands of one person (Bortolotti, Boscari and Danese, 2015). The employees are the equalresponsible for the success of the organization and the cooperation level within the employees ishigh and this improves the team working in the organization. With this power culture the highcooperation level is must require for the organization. This culture is also known as the Zeusculture which named on the Supreme Greek god. The power is in hand of the top authority of thecompany. The employees have higher belief in the company owner and leaders. The power is3

centralized to the owner of company and the leaders have the authority to take the decisionswithin the organization. The delegation of the power is decided by the company owner or CEO.For example this type of culture used in supermarkets like M&S. In this type of cultureemployees have belief in the company owner and team which helps the individual employee towork better. Higher cooperation level improves the team working. This culture improves theindividual and team performance. The only problem in this culture is the way of powerdistribution.Person Culture (Low Cooperation Level and High Power Distribution)This type of culture can be found in the professional organization. This type oforganizations provide independence to the employees. The employees can work on theirexpertise. This type of culture exist in the law firm, health companies and the education system.This culture is also known as the Dionysus Culture who is a Greek god. These organizationsprovide full services to the employees. This culture is all about the knowledge and the individualskills of the person who are considered as the member of the organizations. In this type oforganization number of employees are less. The power delegated in the employees as per theirexpertise. The level of cooperation is less in this type of organization because the members of theorganization are working in their own skill on the personal goal which reduces the cooperationlevel (Helmreich and Merritt, 2017).The architects and social groups use this kind of culture in organization. In this type ofculture the individual performance of the employees is higher but the team working is mot good.The individual performance is good in this type of organizational but because of the lowercooperation the team performance is not that much effective or good.Task Culture (High Cooperation and High Power Distribution)This type of work culture can be found in the matrix or project organizations. This typeof culture is more based on the result and the organization are result based organization. Thisculture is also known as Athena culture who is Greek goddess like Apollo. The employees in thisorganization are free to operate in the organization to solve the problems of their expertise. Theemployees of this kind of organizations are more experienced and skilled which helps them tosolve the problems with in the organization. Their goal is to implement the project in right wayto optimize functionality of project (Nicolson, 2015).4
