Functional Requirements of the Cake Franchise System
The franchise is faced with the challenge of reporting inventory levels available at different stores. Stocktaking is very difficult as the old system does not provide information on the level of materials at various stores. The current system does not help in managing wastage which is making the franchise lag behind in terms of revenue. The system is also unable to provide information on the ranking of stores in terms of profits and level of customer service. It also does not have a resource section that employees can use to get information on health and safety procedures that guide employees on how to conduct themselves. The system is therefore not sufficient enough in supporting the franchise achieve its objective of minimizing operating costs while maximizing on profits. The new system will bring together all the stores under the franchise into a single platform for smooth information flow and evaluation. It will be able to monitor, track and report on daily and monthly tasks. It will also be able to automatically communicate on the level of cake production in each store, cancel and modify customer pre-orders and orders
