I am writing to express my strong interest in becoming a Canadian citizen. I
wish to permanently settle in the Country so as to be close to my family. The
upcoming expiry of my passport will affect my temporary residence, and it is in
this line that I submit my application.
My name is Paul Jorge, a male, Mexican native born on 1st January 1985, in
Mexico City, Mexico (Dauvergne, 2005). I have brown eyes; average girth and I
am 171 cms tall. I am a holder of a Mexican national identification NO: 654321
and a current owner of passport Number 123456 issued from Mexico in 1st January
2010 and due to expire on 31st January 2020 .I am fluent in Spanish and relatively
conversant with English. I have no criminal record, no previous history of violence
or war crimes and have never served in the military (Aoki., et al 2010). I, however,
suffer from high blood pressure, and I am in constant need of specialized medical
attendance.
My current level of education is high school, which I look forward to further
up to post graduate if possible. In my Highschool education, I pursued a diploma in
packaging management and have been using the skills to successfully apply for
various packaging and management positions in Mexico, Canada and other
countries. I am also a trained truck driver and have used the positions entrusted to
me to faithfully pay tax and maintain my credit worthiness.

I have been residing in Toronto, Ontario for the last ten years on an
invitation from my wife and her family (Baines.,et al 2015). My wife, Paula Maria
Rubio-McCormick, is a native and Citizen of Canada. She is originally from
Winnipeg and courtesy of her parents’ mixed racial marriage; she enjoys
citizenship of both Peru and Canada.
We have been married for the last fifteen years. Paula and I met in 2004 in
Toronto, Ontario during one of my seasonal visits to my cousin Sanchez
Rodriquez, an engineer posted at the City Square Pavilion. Due to my temporary
living status in Canada, financial constraints and the fact that most of my relative
were back in Mexico, I invited Paula to Mexico where we tied the knot the
following year, 2005. Our union was presided over by Father Emilio, now
Archbishop of the ‘Our lady of Guadalupe Catholic church’ Mexico City. The
town’s church hall was filled to capacity as friends and neighbors came to witness
a young wild love that brooded to marriage.
I lived in Mexico while my lovely wife lived here in Canada. In 2010, I
applied for a temporary Canadian passport, following the subsequent demise of my
parents, Madam Selena Maria and Sir Diego Carlos in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
I left behind my younger brother, Cesar, who is married to reside in our ancestral
land as he looks after our farm and pursues his thriving career as a soap opera
actor.

Paula, my darling wife is conversant with English and French and has a
higher diploma in Immigration Consultancy. For the last 14 years, she has been
working at Mexican Immigration Inc. as a Regulated Canadian Immigration
Consultant. In addition, Paula and I have been blessed with a lovely 8-year-old
daughter, Layla Ana, who enjoys both Canadian and Mexican Citizenship. We all
live in apartment 450 along Street number 4131 in Yonge Street.
The ten years I have been in Canada has exposed me to diverse culture,
exponential economic growth, psychological stability, goal realization and family
reunification. It is for the above reasons that I wish to permanently settle here.
Through consultation with Paula, am aware of the stringent rules and procedure
that have to be met for the citizenship application and I hope I can meet most of
them if not all.
I am made aware that I may have breached some of the guidelines
facilitating seamless Canadian citizenship acquisition and may render me
inadmissible as highlighted in the Ottawa Faculty of Law Working Paper 2017-21.
Matters such as our marriage not being officiated within the Canadian jurisdiction
and the fact that have been living outside the country over the past five years have
been addressed as some of the key issues that I ought to consider to have a
successful application. It is important to note that Canadian permanent residents
might sponsor their spouse or a common law partner. Once the process is approved

, the sponsored persons often obtain permanent residency status thus allowing them
to build their live within the Canadian Jurisdiction Qu,2017).
I am, however, hopeful that although our marriage was not officiated in
Canada, the wedding certificate that was issued to us while in Mexico, in 2005 will
serve as evidence of our legal union. In addition to that , my movement within and
outside Canada since the time I was issued with a temporary visa have primarily
been motivated by employment and academic reasons. Such experiences have
provided me with the opportunity to garner skills and prowess that they have
today. It is important to note that, Paula, is a permanent resident of Canada. She is
above legal age and her income of $70,000 can cover our basic needs; food, shelter
and clothing and can also help contribute towards my specialized medical care for
herself, me, our child and her parents.
Paula has never been married before and thus has not sponsored any other
individual that is not her spouse . This confirms that , she has demonstrated the
basic ability to adhere to the key immigration laws of the nation. Furthermore ,
Once approved, we intend to continue taking care of Layla as our daughter .This is
based on the fact that we have never been involved in any crime cases of any kind
and therefore , we hope that you will fully trust us with such obligation It is
important to note that over the past years, Canada has been recording significant

cases of child abuse(Messinger, 2013).As a result ,I would like to assure that we
are good people with positive intentions for the country and the society as well .
I wish to further defend my application by stating that for the last ten years
that I have been residing in Canada, I have been contributing towards the national
revenue through subject of payment to various taxes (Verick ., et al 2013). I also
wish to continue using my salary from my packager’s position to supplement the
family income. I will take with great appreciation the approval of my application in
compliance with the guidelines of the common law in Canada. According to the
guidelines of the common law , if you have been living in Canada temporarily ,
one must demonstrate the they plan to stay in Canada when the other spouse
becomes a permanent resident . (Rathod, 2010). That being said , I look forward to
staying together with my family once my application is approved. I hope to be
close to my family as my wife and support her in raising our daughter. I made a
promise to Paula to help her take care of her aging parents and with my current
health condition, I would love to be in a place like Canada which offers specialized
healthcare and affordable medical services.
I believe that my skills will also have a positive economic impact. I look
forward to applying for a work extension and my skilled labor and services will fill
the market needs of our continuously growing cosmopolitan city. In addition to
that, I understand that I have the obligation to abide to the rules of the Country and

to uphold integrity and all the values that the nation dearly treasures. Satzewich et
al., (2014) indicates that , a great citizen can only be seen through their
commitment to the law of the country as well as their intentions to positively
contribute to the country’s economy.
