The public amenities and services, environmental quality, housing conditions and property pricing are the attributes that reflect the standard of living in the community. Planned investigation hypothesis or question/sub-questions The hypotheses that have been drawn for the context are as follows: The socio-economic quality of life will be higher in St Cross as compared to Stanmore. St Cross being a suburb has a greater environmental quality as compared to Stanmore giving its residents a greater quality of living. The rise in gentrification, reveals that there is inequality of housing prices and quality Investigation focus – indication of how the enquiry will enable the candidate to address the investigation title and explore the theme in relation to the chosen geographical area The main aim is to identify the factors that create differences in the quality of living between Stanmore and St. Cross. The difference in the socio-economic conditions, environmental quality and property pricing in the two communities will be analysed to understand the reasons behind such differences. Planned methodology – indication of qualitative and/or quantitative techniques including primary and, if relevant, secondary data collection techniques.Indication of the planned sampling strategy or strategies The quantitative and qualitative analyses have been done in order to gather appropriate data and information. Random sampling has been used to collect primary data. Stratified sampling has been used to collect secondary data. Primary data is collected from field survey conducted by us. A questionnaire framed in a semantic scale will be used to gather the primary data. A quantitative analysis would be therefore done from the information. Secondary sources will include information from the websites of the property dealers.
