The main aim of this report is providing a
brief analysis of the security breach case of
the Canva. This security breach has affected
nearly 139 million of users of it. The

disrupting in the business processes of the

been done of the Canva security breach
cases. In this aspect important security

and an appropriate security control has been
recommended to the Canva with proper
justification.
Keywords: Canva, Canva Data Breach
I. Introduction:
The information system can be
considered as collection of several of
equipment which are mainly involved within
the dissemination of information. Important
parts of an information system are the
software, hardware, information, computer
system connection and the information
system users.
Information systems are quite
important for the businesses and the
organizations in the present situation as it
provides various of benefits to them but this
system also faces some of the critical issues.
In this aspect the major issue with the
information system is the security breach.
In the aspect of security breach, this
report will be discussing cyber-attack case
on canva. This is one of the biggest attack
which happened recently and due to which
more than 139 million peoples were
affected.
II. Security Breach Details:
I have analysed the security breach
case of the Canva and I have assessed that

Canva which is a San Francisco based
graphic design platform faced the data
breach attack in the month of May, 2019.
From the analysis, I have found that due to
the data breach issue approximately 139
million user’s data were compromised. The
main critical factor which lead to the data
breach issue was the internal vulnerability
within the system of Canva. Here, hackers
identified this security flaw in the system
and used this vulnerability to breach the
confidential data of Canva which was
including login details of the Canva users.
Canva was totally unaware about the
fact that they were going to be hacked by the
attackers due to some vulnerability in their
system. As they were failed to identify the
issues in their system there was no
remediation procedures was initiated for the
security breach issue and for that data of 139
million peoples were compromised. From
my analysis I have found that security
breach of Canva was later identified by
Canva when the data of the users were
already compromised but the positive fact is
that as soon as the breach was identified by
Canva they took appropriate steps for
mitigating the security breach issue.
While I was investigating the
security breach case of Canva I have
assessed that initially there was no
appropriate security measures were
integrated within Canva system which can
effectively resisted the initiated attack. As
there was no security measures was
integrated in the system, it was quite natural
that the Canva faced this security breach
issue. Also, there was some internal issues
in the system of Canva and this helped the
attackers to intrude within the system of
Canva.
I have also analysed the security
breach case of Canva further I have found
that in some of the aspects their system was
updated. It has been assessed that their
system was updated enough that they were
