Based upon this, a recent case of social movement is being discussed involving its emergence, reason for the same along with the approaches being adopted and it also covers the benefits and drawbacks of the same. MAIN BODY The Black Lives Matter (BLM) emerged after the police killing of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd. This step has galvanized the anti-racism all across the US, Canada and other places. There were also earlier incidence of the unfair treatment of the black people. As a result of all these, the angry people have made use of the creative approach in order to confront the systemic racism. The lawmakers pledged to divest from the police and along with this, the school districts have cut all the ties with the law enforcement (Royal and Hill, 2018). The organizing of the BLM movementand the protest tactics have played an important role in the change in the public discourse. This movement is very well aware of the media bias and the limits of the politics and thus, they have challenged this status quo. People refuse to placate the public and the policymakers with good nature and politeness and protesters unflinchingly starring into the eyes of the police. This approach is mainly used for confronting the existing racial inequities. The benefits of this movement has resulted into increase in the awareness among the people in respect to the racial discrimination being faced by the black people. This movement has been successful in its approached of disrupting the status quo (Haynes and et.al., 2019). The tactics like the mass protects and human face the racist monument works in line with the strategies in order to demand the legislative change and reparations. Over the period, these approaches would convert into the powerful forces that will push back against the white people in the power (Clayton, 2018). But on the other side, these tactics has affected the regulatory system of the nations along with this, it has disobeyed the law and the police officials leading to disruption in the system. By getting involved in the movement would have added another voice for bringing up the social changes. Through my participation, the protestors would get more motivated as adding one more hand creates more support in bringing the right with a more innovative approaches for meeting the demand and doing good for the society and community.
