CARE STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT Examining the condition of Alexa, it is evident that she is a victim of child neglect, and her family members are unable to fulfill the basic needs of the child, which has resulted in causing physical as well as psychological harm to Alexa (Johnson & Fisher, 2018). Following are the two goals determined for the child: i)Ensuring nutrition: Nutrition deprivation can lead to significant complications and needs to be prevented. ii)Building a sense of emotional and physical safety: this is crucial for ensuring improvement in the child’s psychosocial growth and enable her to express satisfaction with life (Slack et al., 2017). To achieve the first goal determined for the positive health of Alexa, frequent monitoring of the nutritional state and developmental status of the child is required. Adequacy of relationship is required to increase the sense of security and help her to grow and learn. In context to the second goal, a strategy concerned withfamily and home- environment assessment is required. Advocacy, assistance, and proper guidance provisions for the parents needs to be ensured to help them understand Alexa’s progression and needs (Barlow et al., 2016). Administration of actions that removes the child from a trigger or unsafe situation will help Alexa to express emotional and physical safety. Strategies to Build Responsive Relationship with Alexa: 1.To build a therapeutic relationship with Alexa, consistent support, and being available to the child needs to be ensured, which will increase her feeling of safety and trust. 2.Improving parenting skills and building parental confidence. 3.Home maintenance assistance to ensure home as a safe place for Alexa.
