Introduction
Career development is referred to the process of selecting a career by an individual,
improvising their skills and advancing in a career path. It's a continuous process of learning and
decision making through a individual bringing them closer to their desired goals and objectives
(Crumpton-Young, 2019). For an individual it is considered to be one of the most essential steps
needed to be taken by them so that they can start working towards it as well as improve their
skills according to the requirements. Career development helps increasing the motivational level
of an individual and offer them clarity of things needed attained by them in order to be
successful. It also helps in improving students’ academic interest and performance. There are
various skills that can be learned by the students to develop themselves. This report highlights
the my career professional interest in finance area and the skills sets required for further
development. For personal development plan is also highlighted in this report.

Personal analysis
Career plays an important role in an students life and development of his academic performance.
I have decided to make my career in finance field which is considered to be one of the most
growing and established field in any industry. I will mainly looking for finance field in event
management sector. Event management is one of the most growing and profitable sector around
the globe and finding job in finance field in this sector will be huge opportunity for me. As per
the opportunities I can get I have effectively developed myself as well as continuously
developing myself as well. In order to achieve these career goals I have decided to complete my
higher studies and take proper degree in that particular field. It will help in increasing my
chances of getting more opportunities (Ginevra and Nota, 2018). I have taken finance degree
which is I think is important for me if I have to get this job role and accomplish my desired
goals. I have graduated from London school of science and technology and also I have great
knowledge of IT analytics. In addition to this I have also completed my training in finance
department as an assistant manager. This all makes me confident about my future career
development in the finance field. This also will help me in finding suitable career path and
enhance myself more and accomplish my desired career goals and objectives. There are certain

skills I have that I am confident of such as communication skills, analytical skills, IT skills, data
analysis skills, team management skills and so on. But with changing trends it is essential to
update my skills to grab new and advance opportunity, in order to do so the personal SWOT
analysis and personal development is mentioned below:
Personal SWOT analysis
It refers to the framework taken into consideration by the individual in order to determine their
own personal strengths and weaknesses (Gnanavel and Saranya, 2018). Also, various
opportunities and threat available for them.
Strength
 One of my greatest strength is that I am highly motivated and enthusiastic towards my
career goals and objectives
 I also have great IT and analytical skills, in addition to this I have also analysed that I
have great communication skill, data analysis skills, team management skills and so on.
These skills will help me to accomplish my desired career goals and objectives as well as
enhance my performance.
Weakness
 One of my weakness is that i am unable to complete my work on time
 I have also analysed that I lack in critical analysis skills which is essential for any career
goals
Opportunities
 Enhancing time management, critical analysis as well as problem solving skills will help
me in my future finance career.
 There are also various career opportunities in finance field which will help me to grow
 Also my great IT and analytical skills will help me in grabbing new opportunities in
finance field.
Threat
 Increasing competition in chosen field will create threat for me in my future career and
development
 Also there can be threat from my colleagues studying same profession as well
 Not having required skills will also create threat for me in the job market.

Career action plan is a detailed plan prepared by the students in order to determine the
required steps needed to be taken by them in order to achieve desired career objectives
(Hamilton, 2021). Through personal SWOT analysis it is determined that I have great IT,
analytical, communication and team management skills. But is also determined that I have poor
time management, problem solving and critical analysis skills. So in order to accomplish my
career goals in finance field the personal development plan is mentioned below:
