INTRODUCTION Career of an individual is one of the most important stage of the life. It is considered as a journey consisting learning, work and other aspects of life. According to ones inbuilt skills and the skills gained by learning, they can choose their career paths. A person need to develop good career choices in order to grow and gain success. Career development is the key for successful aim achievements. The tiny steps towards the enhancement of a persons skills to grow and being capable enough to handle and fulfil their needs and wants is known as career development. Career development is skill development in short term. An individual should always do self analysis for achieving their career as there should be knowledge of self abilities to achieve the aim. The report comprises of two main components which are self analysis and a career action plan. The Self- analysis will include an internal analysis of individual as per the required job and the post which isamarketing manager for Sainsbury(Chen, 2006.). The career action plan includes the pre decided planning about how the individual will gains the skills which they don't posses. The report also contain the CV, which include the skills, experience, achievements and knowledge of the person and their LinkedIn profile. MAIN BODY PERONAL ANALYSIS As per the CW1, there is a need of a marketing manager in Sainsbury, a retail company in UK. The company is in need of a marketing manager to manage the operations related to the operations done in the marketing department of the organization. The respective company need a marketing manager to administrate and lead the marketing team in promoting the companies campaigns, enhancing the brand image, and other marketing activities in order to reach the company's target audience. The marketing manager also handles the budget distribution and resources allocation for the future plans. There is the main role of marketing manager in the formation of market plan and meet the expected quality standards and the deadlines. As I have already worked as a marketing team executive, I have conceived the skills to be a good marketer in any industry, especially in retail industry(Cordova, 2022.). This will give me a huge advantage and a boost up to my career planning as this job will be granting me a very good experience. Through examining the CW1 it is clear that to do the job there is a need for many skills such as technical skills, Leadership skills, Organisational skills, Communication skills and Digital
technological skills. All such skills will help an individual to perform the operations related to marketing administration. I also realized that I have several such skills in me and I have a good chance to use them to improve my career path. The company is demanding an experienced person as a marketing manager and for that I think I am eligible for the job to be done. I have the needed experience and skills to fit in the job. In today’s world connection to technology is the most important and crucial requirement for any manager’s job. I am good at promoting the buying and selling of product or services(Hartung, 2015.). I think I will be good at leadership skills as I can manage and lead a team or any group of people as a manager. On the other hand, I have analysed that I lack in a few required skills. The skills that I don’t posses which is organizational skills, technical skills and interpersonal skills to play the role of a marketing manager in the company, Sainsbury. However, with the help of this personal analysis I will develop these skills in myself as soon as possible because it is essential to have these skills to fulfil the job duties. Such skills are important to grab the job opportunity. Career Action Plan To gain the skills and knowledge that I do not already posses I have to make a career plan. Even for the job opportunity to be gained I have to be prepared and trained well. For this I have to make a career plan to identify the demanded skills that I do not have and the ways to gain them. Career action plan is a document which an individual own to enhance and achieve their career goals. In simpler words, the career action plan contains the evaluation of those skills that an individual can improve to develop their career in the chosen field. By making a career action plan for my self I will be able to identify the skills to be improved and work on them, which will be used by me to attain a position of marketing management in the company, Sainsbury(Miller, 2017.). Below is my action plan which include my skills to be improved, its significance, how it can be developed, hoe I will be judging that if I have achieved the skill and time to be taken to achieve the skill. CONCLUSION After the research and analysis of the individual to be approaching for the job offered by the company, Sainsbury as a marketing manager, there are some conclusions about the candidate. From the personal analysis it is concluded that the person posses a few skills required for the post of marketing manager which are communication skills, leadership skills and digital technological skills. On the other hand there are some skills that the individual do not posses which are interpersonal skills, technical skills and organizational skills. So, in order to gain the skill they are not having they have prepared a career plan. The above report conclude that the personal analysis is helping the person to gain better opportunities in their career an also helping in improving themselves I order to perform well in their career. By making a career plan the individual can work in their poor skills which are important in their career path. The above report shows the calibre of the individual to achieve better fir their career.
