INTRODUCTION Development of career is found as the procedure of making the selection of career, bringing advancement in the career path of an individual along with enhancing the skills as well. Development of personality of individual is also a part of making the career better. In simple words, the career is defined as the growth and development of an individual in future on the basis of education, skills, knowledge and experience. It has been found as essential for an individual to develop the career plan as it help them in making the selection of career according to their skill, knowledge and interest as well. The career plan also help the individual in analysing their current skills and knowledge along with their merits and demerits. CW 1 shows that the chosen career for the individual is marketing manager in retail industry because of the interest and skills of individual. This report include the internal analysis of individual according to the vacancy of marketing manager in Morrison which is the chain of supermarket in United Kingdom. It also deals with the development of career action plan with designing the CV which involve all the skills, knowledge and experience of individual. In order to identifying the competition level, it is necessary to measure the personal skillsand experiences. It also leads 6to bringing the advancement in the some areas of particular field. Action plan is the plan which has been developed by the individual in order to measuring and improving the skills, knowledge and experience and developing the career in the effective manner. MAIN BODY PERSONAL ANALYSIS As per the given case, Morrisons company which is dealing in the retail sector is focusing on the increase in the sales of organisation. In order to increase their sales, the management of Morrison is required to hire the marketing manager who will be responsible for performing all the marketing practices which result in increase in the sales along with the higher revenue generation. According to the analysis given in the CW 1, it has been found that the individual has huge confidence which can be used in order to developing the skills and knowledge as it is necessary to develop skills in order to attain the personal goals of individual. I under the working manner of retail industry and after analysing my skills, I realised that I can develop my carer as a marketing manager in the retail sector. I already have some experience which is relevant to the profile of marketing manager. In order to attain the position of marketing manager, I have to 1
make the plan for my career as it help me in following my passion and dream. Some skills are being identified in the previous part of this report i.e. CW 1 and these skills are found as essential for the marketing manager of retail industry. These skills include communication skills, creative skills, technical skills, leadership skills and content management skills. All the above mentioned skills are found as essential for performing the operations of marketing manager and I realised that I do not have all these skills. My strong and current strength is my communication skills. Along with this, I have completed my course in the marketing domain and I can also communicate in several languages which include English and German. Whereas I also realised that I also have lack of some skills which are found as essential for the marketing manager which include creative skills, technical skills, leadership skills along with the content management skills. It is necessary for me to work on the above mentioned skills as it help me in gaining the position of marketing manager. Presently, I am too good in communicating with someone because of my communication skills. Through the use of my communication skills, I can effective manage the entire team of marketing. Communicating with the other people help me in bringing the effectiveness and efficiency in the collective working of team members effectively. In order to coordinate with the several team members and the other departmentsintheorganisationinaneffectiveandefficientmanner,Icanusemy communication skills. It is necessary for the marketing department to coordinate with the other departments i.e. finance, HR, IT and many others for the purpose of making marketing practices successful. Through the use of my communication skills, I can influence the customers to buy the particular products and services which result in the generation of higher revenue. I also have the knowledge of both languages i.e. English and German. It is also consider as my strong strength because as a marketing manager I have to deal with the several people of different cultures. It help me in communicating with the customers in their preferred language. All the people want something creative and innovative. In order to provide them creative services, I have to learn the creative skills as well. Enhancement of technical skills help me in making my work or operations more easy. Through the use of leadership skills, I can lead the team of marketing effectively. Hence, it is found as necessary for me to work on my creative skills, technical skills, leadership skills and content management skills as it help me in attaining the position of marketing manager in Morrisons company. 2
