INTRODUCTION Career development is very important for the person to have a good personal and professional life. When a person is focused towards the career then this provides for the better and effective working experience and growth and development. Hence, in the present report the audit of personal will be undertaken. Thereafter, the analysis of the skills necessary for the manager in health and social care will be disused. In the end the learning of the different concept learned during the module will be highlighted in order to develop the effective learning. TASK 3 1. Auditing own skill and competency Analysing the skills of the person by themselves is very important because when the person will not evaluate their skills then this will be affecting the working to a great extent. Hence, with the SWOT analysis a person can analyse all their strength and weakness and along with it all the opportunities and threats present in external environment. Analysing skills required to an effective manager in Social and Health Care For working within the social and health care setup it is very essential for the people that they must effectively possess the necessary skills. The reason underlying this fact is that when the person will be having different skills then they will be in position to effectively assist in personal and professional working (Konttila and et.al., 2019). Hence, there is a list of different skills which are essential for the effective working within the health care setting. The major skill necessary within the health care sector is the effective team working skills. The team working skill will assist the health care practitioner in effectively work and try to reach the objective for which patient has come. This is basically because of the reason that when the team work will be good then this will be better for the environment of the health care setting. Along with this, effective supervision and leading skill is also very important. The major reason pertaining to this fact is that when the health care practitioner will be good leader then they will be able to manage the work in proper and effective manner. Hence, this will provide a good base to the health care practitioner in controlling all the activities in proper and effective manner. Along with this the good leadership skill will assist the health care practitioner in managing the working in proper and effective way. This is particularly because of the reason that when the leader will be good then they will be in position to manage and maintain all the working in proper and effective manner (Janati and et.al., 2018). Moreover, in addition to this, another skill necessary to be possessed by the manager in health and social care is to possess good motivation skills. The major reason pertaining to this fact is that when the leader will be motivating then this will be beneficial to the health care setting. This is particularly when all the staff and patient will be motivated then this will assist the health care setting to work and operate in proper and effective manner (Serrano-Ripoll and et.al., 2020). Hence, the proper motivation will assist the person in managing the environment in the health care setting. Along with this, the use of collaborative skills is also very important for the manager within health care setting. This is particularly because of the reason that when the working will be collaborated then this will assist the manager in maintaining the link between all the activities. This in turn will ensure that all the activities are being performed on time and the patients are being happy and safe within the health care setting. Moreover, another major skill which need to be possessed by the manager in health care setting is the good technical skills (Senthilkumar and et.al., 2018). The major reason underlying 3
this fact is that when the manager will be having good skills then this will improve the working capability of manager. The reason underlying this fact is that when the manager will be having good technical skills then they will be in position to effectively manage any of the situation. Hence, this will result in proper and effective attainment of the objectives of the health care setting. 3. Concepts learned from the module With the module there were much different learning which will be assistive in the future working and will improve my performance. This is pertaining to the reason that there were many different types of learning like how the people can help one another, how communication is necessary between colleagues and much other learning. All these learning will be helpful for me in my future working within the health care setting or any other place of work. Hence, within the learning I evaluated that helping one another is very important within the workplace. This is particularly because of the reason that when the people will not be working in proper and effective manner then this will reduce the working efficiency. Hence, it is very important for the people working in corporate or other business environment must have the ability to help one another. From the module, I have learnt that helping others is a sign for them to show that one care for another person (Fraher and et.al., 2020). During my course, I have analysed that healthcare workers are the ones who deliver their services to the needy and help required people in order to make their life easy and comfortable through certain measures. There are many ways through which one can support others each day. They approach the people and goes a long way in order to support others and gets more connected to the people around them. They primarily have to open up in front of the people who requires help so that the other people will elaborate their issues in detailed manner. They basically assist people to cope up with their life challenges by acting as a guideline for them to raise awareness about their requirements and thus provide them solutions as well. With the complete study I got to understand the roles and responsibilities of social as well as health care people towards the people who are living in the society. They have to work hard while searching for the people who need their help and with proper analysis of their situation help the persons towards the challenges that they are facing in their life. They also act and plays a part of guardian as well quite sometimes. Different workers plays different roles in the society and thus share their services accordingly. 4
The another module is related to the importance of the ways in which one can communicate between colleagues as a social or health care worker. From the teachings of my tutor I got to evaluate that in order to communicate effectively, primarily the person have to listen actively and carefully so that they are able to resolve the issues of other people. Actually listening actively shows that one is interested in what your colleague has to say and that the one has respectable feeling for other as well. The person have to speak with discretion and talk face to face with the other people shows interest and helps in building trust along with openness between both of them. Talking face to face helps in resolution of issues and fix complex problems in quick manner (Davydenko and et.al., 2020). It enables the person to build and even earn trust and respect for each other. Act consistently and integrity will enables the individual to build trust factor among colleagues. While doing communication it is necessary to utilise concise and precise form of speeches in order to make others understand about the feelings and the expressions that one required to explain in front of another one. Overall, I got to learn and understand that in order to communicate effectively treat others as the way in which you would like to be treated by others. Module related to how not to be introverted helps me in make myself extrovert in nature. Initially I was always thought about the concept of not being introverted but with the help of this module I got to understand the ways which will enables me or help me to make myself expressive in front of others (Smith and et.al., 2018). As as social and health care worker being extrovert is highly important for me. With restricting spending time in alone, share views in front of others openly without having any kind of fears and being obsessed over spreading or expanding social circle will enables an individual to become quite extrovert in nature which helps them in every field of their life personally as well as professionally. The last module which was related to the expressions which help us to support each other concept has helped me a lot in order to understand the the concept in detailed manner. I understand that in order to help or support others, it is required to having interest of doing work in collaborative manner. Certain measures such as always ask for the advice, communicate directly with the team member, do not complaint directly to the management, engage in the law of reciprocity, celebrate and reward great work, going for informal outings and finding of challenges along with obstacles in combined format helps an individual to support each other in most appropriate manner (Payne, 2018). module I was able to understand all the aspects of the topics along with their significance as a social and health worker in personal as well as professional life. CONCLUSION From the above report it has been concluded that interests towards career development enables the person to learn better aspects of their work and thus amend their abilities.
