Retail industry is the largest daily operating industry of the UK that has function of selling
of products and services to the consumers that are also the end users. The UK retail industry is
merged as the fast paced and most dynamic industry of the UK as it has ample number of players
at small, medium and large scale. It comprises of all the companies that are involved into the
selling of good and services to the consumers. There are different retail sales all across the globe
which includes grocery, convenience, discounts etc. In the growing years the retail industry has
gained the steady growth and also has employed the large number of employs all around the
world. This industry contributes largely into the economy by creating the employment. The retail
industry is highly competitive and fast paced industry that has been recently adopting the
digitization and internationalization at fast pace. There is huge trend of Omni-channel retailing in
this industry in which consumers are combining the benefits if the traditional shopping with the
ease of using the modern technology. In the modern retail industry, the consumers are shopping
through online platforms using smart phones and replacing the shopping at the bricks and motors.
The appetite of the consumers for the retail sales has always remained robust, hassle free and
retailers are always trying to provide their consumers seamless experience of shopping to remain
competitive and consumer’s favourite. In the retail industry the organisations must make sure
that the quality of products is maintained through the supply chain in order to keep the brand
competitive.
