INTRODUCTION
Career planning is a process of identifying the available opportunities and personal objectives of
the individual. It refers to analysation of individual's skill, talent, interests and moral values that
enhance the chance of employment in an organisation. It includes long term and short term
objective that directs the individual to gain financially. It is important that career goals of the
person must be match to the education qualification of the individual. Career plan is made at
growing age of life where individual focus on core areas and field to achieve personal and
professional success. They are also facing various challenges and barriers in this journey but can
be mitigate with their skills and continuos practice that contributes in achieving the desired goal
of the life (Arastaman, 2019). The organisation chosen for this report is Morrison which is UK
based retail supermarket chain and well known for its quality product and services. This report
will cover importance and use of CV in a particular job along with overview of the organisation.
Further, Section B will analyse the personal statement and a core details related to CV whether
meets the requirement of job profile. Also, Section C includes self assessment of the individual
with the help of SWOT and personal development plan.
TASK
SECTION A:
A brief introduction to indicate what the portfolio contains and the reason for both the
personal statement and the CV that will be presented.
A personal statement highlights the skill and qualification possess by the individual which is
essential requirement for the organisation. The personal statement is used to compare the other
candidate having same set of skills and capabilities. It analyse the most desirable candidate
which is most suited for the specific job role. The opportunity offers to the individual must be
match to their personal statements so that they can meet the requirements of the company.
A CV is a detailed document which shows the professional and academic qualification,
achievements and work related information and many more. It is short overview about the
education and knowledge they possess till date (Chotiyanon, and Joannidès de Lautour, 2018).
This document is used by the person to apply for the specific job role in the reputed organisation
in order to enhance their personal and professional growth.

Significance and the reasons why personal statement and the CV will be presented in the
portfolio.
It includes applicable experiences and the skills- A well designed CV and structured
personal statement shows the individual's skill and capabilities which is used for the
employment purpose. It should be true and made in precise manner so that it would be
easy for presenting the whole achievements in a unique style.
Core skills and knowledge that can provide to the organisation- The personal
statement must consist of set of skills and talent which is gained by the individual in
academics that adds value in the functioning of an organisation (Darmanto, and Yuliari,
2018). There are certain column in a CV, dealing with work experience and achievement
of the individual which increase their chances of employment at workplace.
Attract the attention of the potential employers- The personal statement must include
core details of the person that will attract the attention of the potential employers. The
curriculum vitae consist of section for skills and hobbies that highlight the values,
capabilities and talent that an individual possess and which is capable of increasing the
productivity of the organisation.
Skills relatable to the specific job role- A personal statement and CV shows the talent
and inner skills of a person. However, potential employer can analyse those skills and can
relate this with the requirement of the organisation. Many employers are very attracted
towards the essential key words that generates quality portfolios.
You may also want to consider writing a short overview of the chosen organization in a

Morrison is a retailer company that was founded by William Morrison in 1899 with its
headquarters in Bradford, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. It is the fourth largest supermarket
chain in the United Kingdom. It mainly deals in business of fresh food and grocery with their
own stores. It offers one of the best service at a very reasonable and low price with a
commendable history of sale in supermarket (Dedmond, and Landis-Santos, 2018). It is
considered as one of the food specialist as it offers freshly made items to its customers by having
a competitive advantage over its competitors. The company have a supermarket history of almost
