INTRODUCTION Career development is defined as the process of selecting a career, improving the skills and advancing the career path of an individual. In order to develop the personality of individual, it is necessary for them to make better career. Career is all about the growth and development of an individual in future. It is important for those individuals who want to develop their career in a better manner to make a proper career plan as it help them in selecting the option of career along with highlighting the present skills and knowledge with certain advantages and disadvantages. The selected career for this report is the marketing manager in the tour and travel industry because of the skills and knowledge of individual. This report deals with the internal analysis of individual as per the vacancy of marketing manager, making a career action plan along with designing an effective CV which also all the professional skills and experiences of an individual. It has been found as necessary for person to measure their personal skills and experiences which help them in identifying the competition level and certain areas for advancement. The process of measuring and improving such skills, knowledge and experience is possible only by making and developing an effective career action plan. MAIN BODY PERSONAL ANALYSIS According to the current scenario, tour and travel industry wants to increase their sales and for the same purpose, they are required to have a professional marketing manager which perform all the marketing activities in an effective and efficient manner. Under this study, it has been found that an individual is highly confident in raising their own skills and knowledge which are necessary to develop for the purpose of attaining the personal objectives successfully. As per my personal understandings of tour and travel industry, I found that I can make my career as the marketing manager in the same sector. As I already gained experience in this area, now I have capability to make a plan for the purpose of gaining a job profile of marketing manager because of my passion and I always consider it as my dream. From the previous part of report i.e. CW1, several of skills have been identified which are required in the marketing manager of an organisation of tour and travel industry. Some of identified skills include communication skills, best consumer service skills, language skills, cultural awareness, networking skills, knowledge of relevant laws and legislation. 1
From the above identified skills, it has been found that I do not have all the skills which are necessary for a marketing manager. My current strengths include good communication skills, I also have skills of growing my network by developing a good and positive relation with several people (include subordinates, colleagues, customers, seniors etc.). On the other hand, I found that I also have lack of some skills which include cultural awareness, knowledge of relevant laws and legislation. In order to get the job of marketing manager, I have to develop the above mentioned skills in myself. Currently I have skills of good communication, networking skills and best consumer service skills. Effective communication skills help me in properly communicating all the plans of marketing activities with my subordinates. Effective communication always results inthecompletionoftaskinaneffectiveandefficientmanner.Alongwiththis,my communication skills can play an important role in the organisation while doing coordination withotherdepartmentsoforganisationincludingHR,Finance,ITandmanymore.By communicating the informations regarding the products and services of organisation to the customers effectively, I can enhance the sales of organisation along with generation of revenue. Networking skills are also one of my strength as it is necessary for marketing manager to build a healthy and positive relation with the customers so that they can retain the existing customers and attract more new consumers towards the organisation. It is necessary for marketing manager to build several of networks with people so that they can influence them to buy any specific product or service and implies with positive feedback. My another strength is to provide best services to the consumer. I have skills to understand the needs and requirements of consumers regarding the tour and travel industry. As a result, I provide best services to them which satisfy the needs of consumers along with retaining them. On the other hand, it is also necessary for me to understand the culture and language of the customers, so that I can know about the needs and requirements of customers. I have to work on the skills such as language skills, culture awareness along with the knowledge of relevant laws and legislation. It has been found that a marketing manager have to deal with lots of people of several culture and having different language. For the same purpose, they are required to have the skills to understand them. Hence, I have to work on learning the culture and languages of people living in a specific area.
