Running head: CAREER VIEWPOINT
Introduction
With the help of this self-assessment I would be enabling my employers to
get aware of me and my skills and abilities by means of which I can bring profit
and success to their organisations. I really know my personal values, abilities,
potentials, my value of profession along with my social status that have a great
influence on developing a professional helping relationships in between me and
my work practices. I would present a personal analysis where I would be
presenting my present skills, experience and knowledge in order to highlight my
current strengths and weaknesses. Secondly, I shall be presenting a career
action plan that will address both the personal and the career related activities
that I want to undertake to carry forward. Thereafter, I shall be presenting a CV
(Curriculum Vitae) for applying for the graduate level position for accountant.
Personal Analysis
As far as my skills are to be taken into consideration, I would like to tell
that I possess
good problem solving and
communication skills. Throughout
my life, I have shown my
public speaking skills as well. I have always been
given the task of speaking with new members and public speaking through the
inter-school competitions held during my school years or in community
programs. I have always ensured to effective communication and I regard
communication to be one of the crucial skills that one should possess in the
modern day. With the same, the other skill of mine is that of problem solving I
am sure about this due to the fact that my friends and colleagues have always
considered me as their advisor. I used to solve conflicts among my peers and
also many of the times, have provided my opinions and suggestions in business
matter that my leaders have found to be valuable. I handle the conflicts very
sportingly. Furthermore, I am also good at handling conflicts sportingly. I can
confidently this due to the fact that I have always played the role of a advisor or
problem solver for my friends and colleagues in my school and university years
respectively. I was the one to solve the conflicts among my peers as well. I
always think before reacting and never show aggressiveness. Hence, I am
assured that if I am being employed as the an accountant, I would be very
effectively playing my role and could help the escalated support team of my
company along with all type of technical supports in order to resolve the
customer problems in proper and timely way.
My other skill is
team working and
leadership. I love working in groups
as I am very
jolly and collaborative in nature. I have always believed that
there are certain things that I not good at. I always seek for knowing more and I
think, through group working we can gain that knowledge. However, I have an
experience of being a part time accountant. I have always ensured to
demonstrate my skills there. Once, we were give a project. The group consisted
of 3 members only therefore, the flow of communication was very easy.
However, one of my team members was facing challenges in putting his opinions
and ideas forward. I encouraged him and appreciated his contribution.
To my point of view, the good verbal and written communication skills that
I possess is one of the significant strengths of mine that has the potential of
making me an effective employee in my workplace. I believe the fact that in
order to run a business smoothly and ensuring long term success, effective

communication is very necessary. It helps in avoiding the misunderstandings
which could influence the workplace productivity, efficiency and workplace
morale. I have developed a strong verbal, interpersonal and written
communication skills throughout my academic career. Working with ____ have
allowed me to communicate effectively with our clients and customers and
dealing with them in proper manner at variety of situations. I speak clear and
ensure that the electronic messages that I send are not vague in any way. In this
way I have been working with other and improving my own learning.
I would also like to mention that I am excellent at managing and
conducting meetings as well as have the potential of presenting verbal
presentations. With the same, I have the potential of speaking and discussing
confidently regarding my business. I always listen what others has to convey and
have always regarded their advices respectfully. Also, I am very effective at
making conversations in between the employees. As I have already mentioned
that I have always been excellent at communicating and meeting with new
members. I am very jolly natured and have the potential to get jell up with
people very easily. I have always been given the task of speaking with new
members and public speaking through the inter-school competitions held during
my school years or in community programs. I have always ensured to effective
communication and I believe that communication is one of the most important
skills that one should possess in the modern day. My other strength include
computer literacy. I have already completed a course of basic HTML and Adobe
Creative Suite along with CSS and .Net for use with the websites. Having
completed the University design unit, I have learned many things about
multimedia. I am very adept at using Adobe Photoshop 7 as well as InDesign
CS6. With the same, I also possess the basic knowledge of Dreamweaver CS4.
However, it is also to mention that like any other individuals, I too possess
weaknesses. As far as my weakness is considered, I want to say that I have
many weaknesses to mention. However, the one that is relatable to my career is
that of lack of confidence and poor fluency in English. Sometimes, the shortage
of confidence within me makes me willing to quit when something gets wrong.
Hence, I think I need to focus on improving my confidence level as failure is a
part of business. After all, to err is human. Hence, it is natural to make mistakes
but it is not natural to quit.
