The managerial skills which are possessed by Carolyn MacCall are
Decisions-making: MacCall is a former marketer and is quiet obsessed with her customer’s
experience. She spends around 20 and 25% on engaging with the customer and staff in order to
build good relationship (Guriev and Treisman 2017). A good manager would know when the
cost of the company is getting high. When easyJet was over the line of cost managers decided to
save the cost by cutting the proportion on-in-flight meals for the crew. When the airline was on
track then she restored the meals. Such strategies applied by Carolyn has drifted her to be a

confident that the airline is leaner than it was three years ago.
Good marketer: MacCall grasped a good technique for positioning he aims was create perfect
brand for the customer “There will always be people who will just book for price, but our whole
aim is to make sure we’re a preferred brand.” Swapping commodity for affinity creates
positioning for creating accessible, vibrant and warm brand EasyJet. This has dramatically
changed the way the company present itself to customer over the past years. This approach has
deeply effected with consumers to the extent that 75% of passenger flying with the airline in
2016 have rebooked in 2017 as well. The percentage of booking has been increased to 23% in
2017 as compared to 2016.
The Change of theory
The change theory is an approach which is used to illustrate comprehensive description
of why and how a desired change is expected to happen in a particular context. The organization
will have to make certain necessary changes in order to reach the organizational goal and
response to failures. The changes may occur in culture, technology, strategies and other areas of
the organization. In easyJet there were many changes implemented in order to avoid challenges
and obstacles such as cost cutting through cutting-off the on-flight meal, taking prompt decision
during Brexit and provoking better opportunities for especially, female employees working
within the organization (Harper, 2017).
