2 SECTION 1 Introduction to the case The case is about the effects of the mental sickness in an individual’s life. In this particular case study, sufferings of a girl during her schooling due to her mental sickness are studied. She was suffering from anxiety and depression. Everyone in the school, her classmates, and her friends everyone seems to be weird for her.When she was in the primary school, she was unable to understand the problem which was going inside her. She believed that others are different from her. She was unable to adopt them. When she moved to the secondary school, first two years were better as she believed that this might be a new starting for her. Then again anxiety and stress stroked her and she, at last, left the school. In the interview, it is clear that she wanted to live alone but according to her, sitting at home wasn’t the option and schooling was better than getting into some jobs. After that, she joined the animal school as she thought that animals can help in relieving her stress as her experience with her dog Maya were good. Right now she is playing basketball to keep herself busy in something, otherwise anxiety and stress may again strike her. No she also knows her problem and is ready for some treatments like medications. Challenges faced in the individual’s daily life Person who is mentally sick, just as in the given case study, they are not able to cop-up with others. They are unable to make bonds with others (Lally, ó Conghaile, Quigley, Bainbridge & McDonald, 2013). Due to anxiety and depression they just wanted to be alone. When they get alone, they feel themselves as recharged but then, their condition get worst. They get addicted of living alone and due to this; they cannot able to participate in any other activities. As spoken by the victim, when everyone was enjoying, she was not able to know that why she is sad and why she wanted to be alone. They started maintaining differences with others. Other problems faced by them include the bad performances in the academics or in whatever work they do. Their anxiety reduces the working capability and thinking capacity which results into the reduction in
3 their productivity (Gabbidon et al., 2013). They missed all these positive events and experiences in life. Key issues of the case Taking the case from the perspective of the victim, she was suffering from some mental illness. She is not at all physically ill, but she is mentally unwell. Her life in the primary school was not good because she was not able to cop-up with anybody. She finds everyone to be different and weird from her. She thinks that any activity she will do, everyone will dislike that and for this reason, she decide not to do anything, she taken this as a punishment to herself for being different from others. She does not like crowd and anyone in her life. The best time she can spend is when she is alone. She is very sad all the time and fined everything to be irritating to her. When taking the case from the perspective of the carer, victim is suffering from anxiety and depression. It is her anxiety which make her think that everything is different from her and the depression make her feel sad all the time (Papish, Kassam, Modgill, Vaz, Zanussi & Patten, 2013). She thinks that if she will live alone then she can be away from all these things and no will make her think that she is weird but this thing is leading her to more loneliness which is increasing the effect o mental illness. Rationale for the effect of education on mental illness Schools are very important for every child. It is because it makes an individual a perfect person. On the flip side, it can also be harmful for the students. In schools, there are so many situations like the pressure of deadlines, the fear to get failed, social relationships, and so on (de Vibe et al., 2013). Every student has to go through this everyday where their brain has to think about all these things and have to remember everything daily. This leads to the initiation of the anxiety in the students. The work load in the schools may crush the students many times. This results into the feeling of emptiness. They start maintaining distance from everyone in order to complete their workload which impairs their mental health and ultimately it affects their grades (Iqbal, Gupta &
4 Venkatarao, 2015). In addition to these, there are many occasions and reason which develops stress in the life of students. The pressure to do well I the examinations and the pressure of getting the good job literally crushes the students. Every student or any other individual requires that the place where they work or study should be safe and it should give them the feeling of the belongings. When they found to be at the place where they found themselves to be unsafe and everyone and everything is just like alien to them, it impair their work and mental health. Apart from the reason discussed earlier some more important reason for this includes bullying.According to survey, every 28 students got bullied out of 100 in the schools (Maggin & Johnson, 2014). This creates the feeling of fear in them. They started thinking about it all the time and it affects the overall productivity of the student which further leads to stress and anxiety. Finally student became a psychological patient.

5 SECTION 2 Talking from the perspective of the student who is suffering from some mental or psychological disorders,theyrequireasafeandburdenfreeenvironment.Theywantpositivesocial relationships. They want friend who cares of them and who should not judge them because of the mistakes and the different behavior of them.Interview of an 18 year old girl revealed that she was feeling bad and sad all the time which she spent in the school. It is because she was not having friends with whom she can play with. There was no teacher who was caring about her progress in her studies. She was feeling like she is invisible to them. This made her hurt herself and to not to go to schools most of the time. This example suggests that they need good social relationship. When talking from the perception of a carer, students who are suffering from any psychological disorders primarily are in need of the good counseling. Students do not realize most of the time that what they are going through. Their situation just get worst day by day without their actual realization. Another thing which they require is the encouragement from the teachers and professors of the premises. There is higher probability that the student who is mentally unwell may not be able to attach with their other collogues but the professors should maintain healthy relation with them. They should be appreciated for their participation in any activities. This will help them in reducing the stress and anxiety.
6 SECTION 3 With increase in the competition in the academics, the burden of the students is increasing every day. This is resulting into increment in the stress level of the students. As a mentor, some changes should be applied for reducing the risk of any psychological disorders in the children. These changes includes the correct counseling of them to know if there something from which they are suffering but not sharing with anyone else. Also, it should be tried that the schedule and module o the study pattern for the student should be such that they should not feel pressurized (Turner, & McCarthy, 2017). Students and other individuals who all are suffering from such mental illness should be identified and they should be motivated to participate in all the social activities (Williams, Kanter & Ching, 2017)). In spite of bullying them and making fun of them for their work, they should be encouraged and appreciated for all the work they do. It has no doubt that they will have some strange behavior than others but then too, they should be adopted by others. It will result into the progress of their healing of the mental illness. It will help them in fighting against the anxieties and their lives can be saved. They can focus better in education and they will stop cursing themselves for being weird.
7 SUMMARY Case of a girl who was suffering from the mental illness such as anxiety and depression was studied. It was found that, the stressful living condition of the school was the reason for her illness. Parents send their kids to the school for getting education but sometimes, the pressure of the exams and the future develops signs of mental illness in them. They start making distances from other students and they start loving to be alone. This loneliness further worsens the situation. To avoid this, proper counseling should be done for the students. Curriculum of the school should be such that it do not create burden on them. Parents of them should not pressurize them for the good results, but they should allow improving in the field in which they are good at and where they have interest. This will reduce the risks of mental illness in the students.
