PART 11. Adam’s situation as presented in the case notes and the relevant information from the case file.2. Discuss how each category influence your strategy.1.Youthcontext/Category2.Information from case file3.How will this context influence yourstrategy for working with Adam?IdentityAdam is a 14-Year-old boy, lives in Out of Home Carehouse since he was 9 years old.He may see himself as someonewho is hard to care for giventhat he has lived in many otherplacements. He arrived as arefugee 6 years ago at Australia. It has been reported that, he hasa close relationship with hismother. Further, he has beenknown for taking alcohol &other drugs and most recentlyhas been chroming deodorantcans. In working with Adam, I will show value ingetting to know him as a person, andbecome good friend of him so that he caneasily share his views rather than his casefile will help him feel more connected tocarers. Asking Adam what he wants fromhis placement may help him feelempowered (Arning and Ziefle, 2015).FamilyRelationshipsAdam's father David livesinterstate & his mother Amelialives an hour away from him.According to the study, heshares a close bond with hismother & often speaks to carersabout missing her mother(Cohen, Zimmerman andSecondly, I will have a clear and deepconversation with his family regarding him,his health and education. Further I willdiscuss to his mother that why it is sodifficult for her to take care of her child fora long and make her understand aboutAdam's wrong habits so that she can starttaking care of him. As per the given context2

Grabowski, 2016). He often runaway from OOHC to be with hismother. Moreover, he has noother relationship except hismother as he has no family inthe country. that he has a close connection with hismother, based on this my strategy will workpositively towards Adam. This will makeher mother understand more about his son& enable her to make time for him.SocialRelationshipsHe has no other meaningfulrelationship outside of hismother as he has no otherfamily in the country. I this case, my strategy will be to make himfeel like a home at OOHC and make himcomfortable there so that he can stopabsconds to be with his mother. Making apositive relationship with him, will protecthim against later psychological problems.According to the study, he has no otherrelation except his mother & some friends,my strategy will again have a positiveinfluence on him as by creating a friendlysurrounding may make him feel like hisown place (Rechichi, 2015). HealthHe has been known toexperiment with alcohol andother drugs includingMarijuana, which people use toachieve a feeling of dizzinessand relaxation. And recently hasbeen chroming deodorants cans, which led to the assault of careron one particular occasion(d’Abbs, Shaw and Field,2017). While working with him I will create abond of trust between Adam and me andmake efforts to correct his behaviour. I willcreate a good environment to motivate himinstead of hostility. I will make sure that heunderstands that I will support him toaddress his issues. Based on his bad habitsof taking drugs and chroming deodorantcans, my strategy of making efforts tomonitor his behaviour & making him awareof the effects of inhaling drugs, will helphim know his own value for himself. 3
