1CONSTRUCTION CLAIMS AND ROAD PROJECTS IN UGANDA
I would like to begin by saying that the completion of this project was a
great knowledgeable experience and also helped me to understand the
manner in which academic research projects are supposed to be conducted.
To be very frank, at the beginning I was not very sure whether I would be
able to complete this project because of the complexity involved with the
same and also the in-depth knowledge as well as skill that it required. As a
matter of fact, prior to this project I had never taken the help of the research
methodological framework or for that matter collect data or even analyzed
the same. However, through the constant support of my Professor and also
my Supervisor I was being able to not learn about the same but also to
effectively use the above mentioned aspects for the completion of the study.
The first hurdle which I faced was the selection of a research topic that
was not only contemporary in nature but also I would be able to manage
effectively. Thus, I researched about different topics and initially I was not
very sure about the kind of topic that I should opt for. However, one thing I
was very sure about that, namely, I wanted to select a topic that was not
only contemporary in nature and also important from the perspective of the
my own nation. The resultant effect of this was that after researching a great
deal on Google I came across the topic of delay in the completion of the
different road projects within the nation of Uganda. After undertaking an in-
depth research on the concerned topic I was being able to find out that the
construction claims were an important factor that substantially contributed
towards the delay in the completion of the different road projects within

Uganda and thereby adversely affected the growth or for that matter the
development of the concerned nation. Thus, I decided to conduct my
research on this particular topic so as to spread the required awareness
regarding the damage that these construction claims were causing to the
nation of Uganda and also recommend the manner in which they can be
resolved to facilitate the completion of the different road projects within the
nation under discussion here.
However, soon I realized that the selection of the research topic was
perhaps the easiest of the hurdles since after the selection of the research
topic I was faced with the arduous task of formulating the research aim,
research objectives, research questions and other important aspects on the
basis of which I would be completing the entire project. In this relation, I
would say that I am a proactive kind of a person and thus I read numerous
peer-reviewed articles and even sought the help of my Professor, Supervisor
and my friends for overcoming this particular hurdle. Next, I undertook the
task of review of the past scholarly literature related to the impact of
construction claims of the different road projects within the nation of
Uganda. This was an easy task since I was being able to some insight peer-
reviewed articles which while helping me to gain insightful knowledge about
the research topic under discussion here also helped me to complete the
literature review section of my project.
