TABLE OF CONTENT INTRODUCTION.................................................................................................................................2 MAIN BODY........................................................................................................................................2 CONCLUSION.....................................................................................................................................4 REFRENCES........................................................................................................................................4 INTRODUCTION The case study explains nursing practices essentials in medical facilities where there are various wards under which overstaff problems, medical negligence and untrained staff may highly impact patient’s treatments. The report explains how case analysed various aspects, main problems under the scenario and the discomfort which needs to be understood properly and resolved instantly (Smith & Liehr (2018).
MAIN BODY Challenging situations: The ward is facing challenge due to understaffed employees and overwork load which is creating high trouble on nurses and the pressure is making nurses unable to perform their duties properly. The nurses due to less in number are facing problems to attend each patient individually as there are around 12 patients under mixed surgical ward which has increased the workload of nurses massively. There is lack of training and cooperation among management in nurses due to which they are unable to deliver professional medical assistance and treatments to patients, where the operations are not effectively held. Nurses and doctors do not have proper communication between them which creates chaos among them to deliver operations effectively. Many times attentive information shared by patients family members are not documented properly which creates negligence and high downfall among the goodwill and healthcare practices (Holloway & Galvin (2016). Opinion on case study: My opinion towards case study is that medical authorities have role to look upon the staffing and training of nurses is highly planned so that any case of discomfort, chaos do not come in front of patients who get admitted in hospitals for treatments. The documentation of all details of medical history in patients should be properly recorded by doctors and nurses, proper infrastructureshould beprovided for medicalfacilitiesasany negligenceand unprofessionalism by nurses may impact life of patients on variable patterns (Zaccagnini, & Pechacek, (2019). Self experience: If i was working as nurse in the ward i would have faced discomfort and over pressure due to under staff situation where i would be unable to deliver my responsibilities properly. If my fellow colleagues are not able to coordinate with each other to deliver proper medical treatments to patients, this would highly impact my professional duty too (Butts & Rich, (2019). Experiences:
I have experienced similar cases in my training period of nursing practices where in my ward there were many patients operated under me and one more fellow colleague, where t we faced the trouble of under staff. Also there was high negligence given to operational tools, infrastructure of medical facilities where patients were facing high problems and we nurses were not able to conduct our duties with full efficiency to up to the set benchmarks. One of our patient family faced high problem due to chaos in management at hospital and it resulted in death of one of the loved one in family where doctors dint documented all medical history properly (Alligood, (2017) CONCLUSION The report concludes case of medical and nursing factors which impact patients well being on long term and also the parameters onto which nurses should be given proper training, where any negligence may highly impact upon patients life and safety.
