Executive Summary
The case study of “Picoso” restaurant was highlighted in this paper, it is identified that the
restaurant wants to update its web based system for incorporating home delivery services which
would be helpful in serving large number of customers. After proper comparison between the
benefits of both mobile application as well as web based data entry system it is found that mobile
applications are more advantageous for the restaurant due to its number of benefits. It is analyzed
that the work breakdown structure that is created in this paper helps in elaborating the in-house
development of the front-end of a mobile application for Picoso restaurant. Additionally it has
been found that self service platform is considered as the platform that is alternative to in-house
development of a mobile application

Introduction
The paper focuses on “Picoso” which is a Mexican restaurant that operates on the coast
of sunshine. The restaurants have conducted strategic review on its operations by doing SWOT
analysis and identified that in addition to eat and take way options, home delivery services must
also be incorporated on the website of the restaurant. Picoso wants to update its web based
system for incorporating home delivery services. This would be helpful in enabling picoso to
serve large number of customers.
In this report, benefits of mobile application are compared with web based order entry
system for analyzing the best suitable system for Picoso franchise. Work breakdown structure is
created in this paper for in-house development of the restaurant online service. In addition to
this, the paper also illustrates alternatives to in-house development of mobile application that
might be pursued by picoso.

It is identified that there are number of benefits of mobile application in comparison to
web based system. According to Pavluck et al. (2014), the business must consider that

comparison to web based data entry system and can also able to perform actions quite faster. It is

based data entry system, the data are required to fetched from various web servers which can
taken few minutes of time (Lin et al. 2017) The web based system generally utilizes JavaScript

making mobile applications five times faster than the web based data entry system.
Personalized content: It is identified that consumers or users generally utilizes tailored
content as per their preferences. It generally assists them in offering proper tailored
communication. It is found that user-centric personalization is considered quite critical in making
the experience of the customer’s delightful (Dalmasso et al. 2013).The mobile application
generally observes various types of engagement of the user for offering custom
recommendations and for filtering different types of updates.
Instant online and offline access: The mobile application helps in offering the facility of
instant access in comparison to web based data entry system. It helps in allowing the users to
consume different types of content properly with the help of storing data. Ability to work without
having internet connection is considered as one of the fundamental differences between mobile

and Spohrer, 2014). It is identified that this service can be utilized in order to build an

of business including shopping carts, in app-purchase, mobile-ordering system as well as loyalty
programs. It is identified that one of the major benefits of utilizing self-service platform is that
they can properly take care of the entire app store submission procedure. The next step is

application must be identified in order to successfully implement the mobile app.
Proper synchronization of app data: The app data must be synchronized properly in
order to ensure that none of the data got misplaced or misused.
Proper feasibility analysis: It is very much important to undertake the feasibility
analysis properly in order to ensure that the project will provide positive outcome to the
restaurant.
Proper designing of the app: Proper design of the mobile app must be created before
implementing the mobile application. This will be beneficial for making the development of
mobile application successful.
Conclusion
It can concluded from the entire assignment that mobile applications are very much
beneficial for the restaurant in comparison to web based data entry system due to the advantages
that are provide by the mobile applications. It is identified that the mobile application generally
