CASE STUDY: PICASOExecutive Summary The case study of “Picoso” restaurant was highlighted in this paper, it is identified that therestaurant wants to update its web based system for incorporating home delivery services whichwould be helpful in serving large number of customers. After proper comparison between thebenefits of both mobile application as well as web based data entry system it is found that mobileapplications are more advantageous for the restaurant due to its number of benefits. It is analyzedthat the work breakdown structure that is created in this paper helps in elaborating the in-housedevelopment of the front-end of a mobile application for Picoso restaurant. CASE STUDY: PICASO IntroductionThe paper focuses on “Picoso” which is a Mexican restaurant that operates on the coastof sunshine. The restaurants have conducted strategic review on its operations by doing SWOTanalysis and identified that in addition to eat and take way options, home delivery services mustalso be incorporated on the website of the restaurant. Picoso wants to update its web basedsystem for incorporating home delivery services. This would be helpful in enabling picoso toserve large number of customers. In this report, benefits of mobile application are compared with web based order entrysystem for analyzing the best suitable system for Picoso franchise. Work breakdown structure iscreated in this paper for in-house development of the restaurant online service. In addition tothis, the paper also illustrates alternatives to in-house development of mobile application thatmight be pursued by picoso.
