INTRODUCTION
Railway Regional Fleet project include the vision to replace overall trains with new ones which
are up to 36 years old in order to improve standards of rail facilities to passengers traveling from
Sydney to certain regional areas (Baker and Bagis, 2014). The present report is based on the
selected project named as Railway Regional Fleet which is proposed in Western Australia for
improving the safety of people by using innovative technology in new trains. This assignment
will focus on background of given project and project risk management framework along with
reviewing industry. It will also include need of Western Australian Government regarding this
project and feasibility of the same.
MAIN BODY
Background
The Railway Regional Fleet is all about to replace old trains by introducing new ones in order to
provide better facilities and increase security of people. However, the NSW Government is
replacing the ageing NSW regional rail fleet of XPT, XPLORER and Endeavour trains that
consists trains which are up to 36 years old. It also include the new train maintenance facility
will be developed in Dubbo in respect of stimulating the regional economy as well as provide
help for creating sustainable job opportunities. In addition to this, it has a beneficial criterion to
increasing safety of people and improves comfort level, accessibility as well as reliability for
passengers who were traveling from Sydney to several regional centres such as Canberra,
Melbourne and Brisbane. Moreover, this project include particular contract that consist
designing, building, financing and maintaining the new regional rail fleet (Amery-Gale, 2018).
Furthermore it also consist the criterion of building, designing and maintenance along with
operating the fresh purpose built fleet maintenance facility in Dubbo.

provide support introduce trains with new innovative facilities which favourable for citizens in
context of travelling on regular basis along with boosting the factor of security. However, it is
necessary to complete project to introduce new trains by replacing old trains because safety of
people is very important and it is very risky to serving railway facilities by very much old train is
responsible to take risk of lives of large number of passengers traveling in single vehicle. There
are several requirements of Western Australian Government for the project of Railway Regional
Government which are described below.
Innovative facilities to citizens – This include to provide better innovative services to
people so that they will not face much issues at the time of whole journey. It include the
utilisation of digital technology including Automatic selective door opening for stations with
short platforms and modern CCTV equipment which are helpful to people. However, CCTV are
providing support to capture every moment of each passenger along with mis-happenings which
facilitate to determine culprits easily (Morison and Graham, 2014).

Safety and security – The CCTV equipment are helpful to secure people from problems
and new trains have innovative technical system which facilitate to provide safety in proper
manner. Meanwhile, it consists to provide more effective facilities such as comfortable and
functional design including reversible seating, spacious buffet cars as well as overhead luggage
storage.
Improve Railway services – This can be described as improvement in various railway
facilities which are mandatory to be comfortable for passengers accordingly. However, the
introduction of new trains by replacing old ones facilitate to provide accessible toilets on every
train, wider doors, single-deck carriages, priority seating and accessible help points.

pockets are also necessary to be provided.
The feasibility of the project
The feasibility can be considered as a possibility of anything in order to easily or conveniently

At the other hand, new project is feasible because sit will reduce much the rate of train
accidents due to old technical systems which can be replaced by introducing Railway Regional
project. This project will become successful because it has overall criteria to improve facilities
and safety of citizens while they are travelling from one place to another. However, the other
facilities such as reversible seating, spacious buffet cars and overhead luggage store with creative
idea to make journey of people more comfortable and safe. This project is easily accepted
because it is responsible removing a major risk of train accidents by replacing old vehicles on
track which is very important to introduce Railway Regional Fleet project in proper manner.

Other innovative facilities include accessible toilets on every train, wider doors, single-deck
carriages, priority seating and accessible help points which are also responsible for increasing

The Railway Regional Fleet create positive situation by introducing this project as it is helpful

equipment which provide support to increase security of passengers from criminal activity of
other misshapen. In addition to this, this project has been created positive environment in
Western Australian because it is favourable for common people by removing risk of train
accidents along with facilitating new innovative techniques for providing appropriate services to
increase comfort ability of citizens. In contrary to this, they put efforts to gather feedbacks of
customers regarding proposed design including vision of the selected project (Morison and
Graham, 2014). Meanwhile, the intension to gain views of clients is not incorrect but it create a
lot of confusion because every individual has different requirements then it will generate
difficulty to consider appropriate comments of people from different types of opinions given by
citizens. Moreover, this project is required to invest large amount of money which may create
situation of loss for railway industry for some time.
CONCLUSION
From the above report, it has been concluded that Railway Regional Fleet project is a
contract to replace old trains by new ones in order to secure passenger through providing better
facilities. However, it include several innovative services including spacious buffet cars,
overhead luggage store, reversible seating, CCTV equipment, automatic doors and many more.
The major beneficial aspect is to apply new creative technology system of train which facilitate
to reduce risks of accidents and other injuries along with improving comfort ability of people at
the time of travelling.
