INTRODUCTIONThe present case study is based on the Jaguar land Rover. Under the case study manyproblems were recognised such as; reduced sales in China, sudden job cut of announcement,uncertainty from Brexit, etc. The aim of this case study report is to have in-depth knowledge andunderstanding of the problems and their impact (Baker, 2017). The general purpose of the casestudy is to analyse;Why sudden announcement done by JLR that 4,500 will be cut?On what extent it made impact on the employees and on the management of thecompany?What strategic decision made by JLR to overcome the issues related to this decision?An in-depth analysis of the strategic decision making process will be done by usingproblem solving perspective. The study will also evaluate recognised problem-solvingtechniques that will use to unfold potential solutions for the strategic decision making. Lastly,some essential recommendation will given to the company for future practice and suggesttechniques and tools that would support any problem solving and strategic decision-making forJaguar Land Rover in the future.The case study - Background informationJaguar Land Rover PLC is a luxury vehicle manufacturer that design, manufacture andsell high performance passenger cars throughout the world. It is a British multinational industryand the holding company of Jaguar Land rover Limited. It is a public limited company thatincorporated under the legislation and laws of England and Wales.The history begun from 1989 when jaguar and Land Rover were acquired by Ford MotorCorporation. In 1967 Leyland Motor Corporation absorbed the Rover company. In 1980 it waspurchased by British Aerospace and in 1944 the company has owned by BMW and in 2008 LandRover was sold to TATA Motors along with Jaguar Cars (Bardach and Patashnik, 2015). JLR isa part of India's largest auto mobile company, TATA Motors. The brand's strategic approach hasgreatly minimised the car's impact on the environment through various technologies such as e-terrain technology, CO2 offsetting. Their continuous R&D help them to bring innovation in heirproducts and services.1

Products served by JLR are Luxury vehicles and sport utility vehicles. Jaguar vehiclesinclude; Jaguar XF, Jaguar XJ, jaguar XK, Jaguar F-type, Jaguar XE, on the other hand, LandRover vehicles include; Land Rover Defender, Land Rover Free-lander, Land Rover Discovery.Top competitors of the company are Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Lexus, BMW group, Toyota (Bartonand Fieldhouse, 2018). The estimated revenue of the organisation is $25.8 Billion and it havearound 43,224 employees. During their growth and development they mainly invested in My-croft that develop an AI based voice assistant platform and in Cloud-car that develops acomprehensive automotive platform that delivers cloud based solution to OEMs. JLR sold a totalof 604019 units in the year end of 31st March 2017. core values mentioned by the industry are;Integrity, Understanding, Excellence, Unity and Responsibility.The mission of JLR are;We want to deliver more great products, faster than we have ever done before.We want to be the leaders in the field of environmental innovation.We want to be sure our consumer come first.Problem statementIn this case study, Jaguar Land Rover announced 4500 jobs will be cut in the UK.Employees were informed that company which employ 40000 people in the UK needed to cutcosts. Company facing decrease sales in China and slack in demand for diesel cars whileexecutives have also charged about uncertainties origin by Brexit. In the latest news and updatesfrom the West Midlands. As per the management structure, the most of roles will be lost officebased. Due to uncertain future, supplier to Jaguar Land Rover are also concerned not justemployees. In order to that, Jaguar Land Rover's diesel dependency. In this context, if they aregoing to cut down on the work, so that company is going to lose work. Through this, future doesnot see that great at the moment for any of them. There was also pessimism external the 54 plant new Wolverhampton as employeesbeginning their shifts. Jaguar Land Rover has said it plans to invest in electric engine tech at theplant. In order to that, company has faced many issues as per case study. Therefore, Jaguar LandRover needs to confident which will be important portion for future success of company.(Canhoto and Dibb, 2016). Through these problems, there are different macro and micro factorswhich involves cutting sales, ineffective operation, high diesel dependency, managementstructure and so on. The six-step problem solving process is recommended to the company here.2
