INTRODUCTIONThe case study is a process of research into development in a situation over aparticular period. Here in this report case study of “Leavers Week” is given in which senior highschool students celebrate their year end (Best, and et.al., 2016). But on this occasion youngpeople consume drinks and drugs. Parents and other authorities shows concern regarding it. Thisreport will lay emphasis on social and legal ramifications of substances which is used in Leversweek. The report will also highlight compare and contrast of two different policy approaches thathas been suggested. Conceptual models of addictions will also be cover in the report.MAIN BODY1. Social and legal ramifications face by young people for consuming drugs and alcoholAlcohol and Drugs may lead to much hazardous damage to young people who consumes it.As in Australia, “Leavers Week” is celebrated by the end of every year for students of seniorhigh school. In this celebration young people consumes not only alcohol but drugs too. By thisthey harm themselves in many ways. Below some social and legal ramifications will beexplained for getting knowledge of hazards that may cause by them :Social ramificationIn accordance with Delker, Brown, and Hasin, (2016) Consumption of Drugs and Alcohol atLevers Week lead young people towards physical illness. As these substances are harmful forhealth of humans. By consuming Alcohol and Drugs, young people may suffer from variousdiseases such as HIV Aids, Tuberculosis, Viral hepatitis and pneumonia. Young people facesvarious problems regarding digestion, lungs infection and also lack of necessary vitamins andproteins in their body. These physical illness affects addicts of these substances towards nonsocial life and sometimes they suffer from insomnia too.Also, Hoggatt, (2015) says that drugs and alcohol is also harmful for humans mental status. Byconsuming these substances young people in their celebration of year end party loss theirmemories and some of them also suffer from mental disorder. The people who consumes drugsdoes not able to take decisions because of their mental imbalance. Depression, anxiety andnegative thoughts are the common problems found in such peoples. On the other hand Kendler, (2015) The young people after consuming alcohol and drugs startsspend more time alone and hence loses their social circle. They did not take participation in anygames and sports activities. They try to grab company of those who consumes these substances3
