September 9th 2001, witnessed one of the most catastrophic terrorist
attacks still date. The day is considered as one of the darkest days in the history of the United
States and one of the darkest days of the world (Chong, Wakaiki & Hespanha, 2015). The
incident saw four co-ordinated attacks across the different parts of the United States and took
approximately 3,000 lives. Out of the various attacks, one of the attacks was on the Twin Towers
had a toll on the global business environment. The aim of this paper is to brief describe the
actions of leaders and governments in accordance with the tragedy.
The attack of 9-11 took lives of numerous people and caused damage
beyond imagination. Apart from damage in terms of capital, the tragedy shook the business
scenario as a whole. The twin towers which was also known as the world trade centre was the
centre of attention of the global business. Attack in the same building shook the economy of the
nation of the United States of America. As a result of the event the stock markets of the country
fell extensively the Economy of the country that was already hit by recession suffered further. As
a result of the attack the prices of Gold Skyrocketed, so did the prices of oil. The oil industry is
one of the most blooming industries in the global economy. According to leaders of the United
States including the president of the country, the main people behind the attacks were the
Muslims. The main sources of oil was from the Middle East and the Middle East being solely
Muslims nations was blocked from the development of any trade related relations. The event was
catastrophic it was caused by Islamic terrorist groups. This was a fact that was proven and the
Mastermind behind the event was identified to be Osama Bin Laden (Reading, 2014).
At that point in time, the whole world looked, especially the western
countries and the United States developed unfavourable perceptions regarding the Muslims. It
was a general opinion that whoever was Muslim was a terrorist. There are various organisations
