CE 1.2 Background of the Project
CE 1.2.1 Basic Project’s Characteristics
A proper structural analysis of any particular building can be referred to as better
determination of the load effects on physical structure and the components. These structures
eventually subject in any kind of analyses by involving soil strata, buildings and bridges.
Result of a proper structural analysis is being used to verify whether there exists longevity in
the structure after conduction of few physical tests. Structural analyses are the most important
parts of structural designs. In this project work, I had to structurally design a 5 storied
building with Etabs software. As it was the first stage for construction; a proper re designing
of the structural component of a building frame right from roof top to base with the help of
Etabs and Safe software. I even have utilized the software to find out durability or economic
structure constraints. Hence, I have completed the structural designing of a 5 storied building
by ensuring that building is comprised of reinforced structure with steel frame. I consisted of
the core capability for analysing, designing and also preparing a detailed project report.

CE 1.2.2 Developed Objectives for the project work
In the project work for Designing of 5 Storied Building with Etabs Software, I
executed complete structural design of project effectively, by not involving any complexity.
Hence, to execute the project work with significant effectiveness, I had developed the
following objectives for the project:
 To accurately design as well as analyze building structure with 5 stories.
 To verify whether the project is eventually being executed according to my project
planning and even whether each and every requirement of the client is being met.
 To check the completed structural design that involves structure based design or
sustainability and even dynamic analyses.
 To analyze and model the designed structure with Safe and Etabs software for the
purpose of foundation analyses as well as design.
 To properly make the model of structural design with Etabs software.
 To contrast as well as compare a detailed design of the building.
CE 1.2.3 My working area in the project work
I was recruited as the structural engineer in this work. I comprised of relevant ground
experience for several projects related to structural engineering and thus my project leader
took the decision for giving me with a core duty regarding structural design. I was being
continuously provided guidance by the project leader, hence it subsequently became
extremely easier for me for execution of this project efficaciously. I also consisted of enough
knowledge regarding hydraulics, soil mechanics and construction. Furthermore, being the
most responsible member of the team, I also accepted my subsequent working area to provide
regular follow ups to my project supervisor.

CE 1.2.5 My main responsibilities and duties throughout this work
I comprised of few important responsibilities in this work. To complete structural
designing and analyses, I started my work right from scratch. I was eventually provided with
some of the most elementary architectural drawings and soil report initially to start my
subsequent project. I even started my project work sequentially. The very first step that was
taken by me was developing all types of drawings with software of AutoCAD that consisted
of frame based structures. Few of the most significant elements of this particular structure
consisted of shear walls, beams, slabs and columns. As, I comprised of distinct knowledge
regarding AutoCAD software, it became very easy to me to complete this project work
without any typical complexity. I also utilized the software of Etabs 3D to properly model
these structural elements before ensuring that all the frame elements of this building was
being eventually designed according to the architectural models. Furthermore, I used my core
